Play on the Cup Winning team?

I would be shocked if the Caps win the cup. I think they get rolled.

I read JPat yesterday and he said when he asked Benning what he was looking for with the first pick at the draft JB said SPEED

Benning loves his Swedes. I am fully expecting to hear his name. The kid has a hell of a shot and very good speed. He is 17 yrs old still.
- VANTEL

I'm just worried his offense won't translate to the NHL. I don't care if there's defense to improve but Bouchard puts up a ton of primary points and his body is already NHL ready and he has a bomb of a shot.

I think Dobson's offense will translate well too, he has less power but more of an accurate shot. Lots of PP goals from the top of the circle in the OV spot

Boqvist....I dont know what to say. I don’t want to be. Coyotes fan

He is not my choice but I bet JB loves him. He is Troy Stecher on steroids. He can actually shoot the puck though unlike Stecher.

What is so special about this Dubas ....I feel like they ditched the two guys who most teams would want to keep on board for a guy who is a TO media flavour of the month a la Dallas Eakins with the marlins

Totally agree Red. He got his name out there being analytically driven with the Greyhounds (while most of his OHL peers weren’t) and somehow leap frogged straight into a high profile job with the Leafs. He obviously is well spoken and interviewed well. The offspring of Chayka and Weisbrod?

Something about this Caps team...getting by Crosby and Stamkos is no small feat. OV looks like he is possessed and really wants it. I'll go Caps in 6-7.

You hit the nail on the head here ....having these guys as consultants is very helpful but I dunno about ditching Stanley cup winners for a guy who probably can’t shoot a puck

I personally see a higher ceiling with Boqvist. He has the best shot and is the fastest. I do see skepticism also.

Has one of the best shots in the draft. A few scouts argue the best shot even. Bouchard may have something to say about that.

Head injuries and defense are a concern with Boq.

I don't think the Cap's defense can handle the constant pressure of the LVGK attack. Even though the Jacket, Pens, and Bolts are really good teams they don't have that 4 lines of pressure that LV can play, and seem to play for 60 minutes.

Fleury knows the Caps.
Holtby better stand on his head or it will be quick.

You know, my predictions are so historically bad that you'd best put money on the Caps.

I think Benning thinks his biggest need is a RHD that can QB th PP and shoot the puck.
He was very high on Makar last year.

I don't know what amount of cash Tavares is looking for but if its north of 13mil Vegas would be screwing themselves over in the future. They would already have to make some moves if they want to resign Karlsson Perron Neal and Theodore as well as sign Tavares

You also were adamant the Leafs wouldn't make the playoffs this year because of sophomore slumps, bad goaltending and multiple injuries.

I'm beginning to reevaluate the level of trust i had in you.

One thing is the Caps forecheck much better than any team LV has played: watching the last few Jets game they had one guy in deep and it was so easy for LV to break out. The Caps hound pucks so much more.

I think the speed of Vegas will be an issue for the Caps, and the size and tenacity of the Caps will be a problem for Vegas. The Jets are a big team, but they didn't run around and hit like the Caps are capable of.

It'll come down to how well Fleury plays, and how much the Caps big guns score.

I'm saying Caps in 6.

I don't know but fluery's making a lot of people look foolish with those comments of "Pen won cup despite of fluery".

I thought he was a bit goofy. I'll always remember during a playoff round he comes flying out of the tunnel during the intros and wipes-out as soon as he touches the ice.

He's not looking so goofy now.
