or play casey on the wing, run with e rod as 3rd center

then push your chips in for 1 winger

- homiedclown

it makes more sense doing it that way right now as opposed to going out and overpaying for a top-six winger or a top-nine winger you hope will be good enough to play a top-six role

Murray bet his job in a Chinese gambling den to Jason Botterill.

pretty much

I think hoffman could be that guy

get a scoring winger for the second line

move out some of those prospects like baptise, nylander, bailey etc

use pick 32 if needed

move either mccabe or scandella

use those assets to get 2 wingers

- homiedclown

I think Botterill will make a move like that to either bring someone in, or ship someone out. He hasn't had a "I'm in charge now" move yet. Ennis and Foligno was light housekeeping

yup

target a proven winger

the only younger one with upside I really like is Athanasiou

but I would be knocking 30 doors and see what is out there before the draft

Why would they play CM at center for 6 games if they just plan on moving him to wing?

I think he showed he has promise at the very least there

to see what they had?

again, my thought all along has been they would get a winger with pick 2-4 overall

which changes now that they won and got dahlin

He actually grew on me. He's fine in spot duty in the top 6 if there are injuries. I just don't think they'll go into the season without bringing in a proven winger who is more skilled than Wilson

I know exactly what kunitz was

lunch box guy that shows up and works every shift

all about the team, not the stats

very unselfish player that can be depended on in the clutch

great leader

pretty much everything we thought we were getting with ror

am I missing anything?

perfect world, wilson sticks as the 4th line LW that can move up a line if needed for a 10 game stretch

I don't have a problem with him

he is what you need on the bottom line for a playoff game

why do six games at the end of the year matter in that instance?...personally I think he'll make a great center, right behind jack on the depth chart...

I see absolutely no problem moving him to a top-six role on the wing in his first season...and I don't think it will matter to him, nor will it do any harm to his development

if you aren't going to punctate, perhaps separating the kaleta and gus parts would have made it a bit clearer

I'm only here for Ryan O'Reilly.

I highly suggest you name every single blog Ryan O'Reilly, then talk about whatever you want in there. Talk about planes. Talk about trains. Talk about automobiles.

Talk about the Bills. Talk about Democratic politics. Talk about how great Trump is. Talk about how poopty Trump is. Talk about how the city of Niagara Falls stinks. Talk about how hairy dogs shed too much this time of year. Talk about taxes.

It really doesn't matter. Because in the end,

Ryan

He's not a top-6 player, but he didn't embarrass himself playing there. Gus was clearly a fish out of water

So when teams have injuries, players don't move up the depth chart? When Sidney Crosby gets hurt, do they call up a kid to play 20 mins on the first line? No.

You're being a touch dramatic

1) Ryan O’Reilly will be 28 or 29 when we’re trying to fight for the playoffs his value is at the highest point you trade him and let’s not forget the game is going faster now he’s not gonna be able to keep up by then probably

2) I don’t trust a guy that all of a sudden starts playing half the season it just shows me he doesn’t have heart and he only cares about one thing “money” and the game is going at a faster rate and he’s not gonna be able to keep up to

3) Ristolainen Is very overrated on these boards I don’t think he’s a number one or franchise defenseman I’ve seen him get Beat on the easiest defensive plays

4) trading maybe two out of the three will help the depth of the organization for winger help and defensive help and Will get some young up and coming players that we can slot on the first or second line

- gerbe75pts

1) I'm talking about making an improvement for next year. Ror is not showing dramatic signs of a drop off. His contract gets easier to deal each year that goes by. Weather you like him or not, hes a good 2nd nhl proven center. 61 point guy

2) I cant stand sam. I dislike his body language and his softness. But why would we trade a guy without seeing his potential? Contract controlled 22 year old who has on and off ice chemistry with our star center

3) risto is a top offensive defenseman in this league. Again young, contract controlled, beast of a man. Tough to play against. He will not be moved, hes a perfect fit on this team moving forward.

4) trading 2/3 makes for possibly younger, guys? I'm trying to move forward and win. Now. These guys help.
Why not see what they have on a team that is trying to not get the top pick?
