That PP from Tampa is a perfect example why Tampa lost these last two games. Perimeter passing and no Bolt within 15 feet of Holtby.

Did the pens pretty much change that superstition about not touching the trophy?

Ovechkin isn’t a superstar

I was kind of holding out for Kunitz to get a fifth but now it’s all Vegas. Don’t give me that “good for Ovi” bullpoop either, (frank) him too. I hope Vegas humiliates them, Wilson finally mans up and fights Reaves and Ovi’s car doesn’t start after he looses at home.

In the last four seasons(this one included) they've made it to the Cup once and ECF twice. That more than a lot of teams do over the span of their club.

I'm sure they will consider a coaching change though.

I should probably add Kunitz as a choice as well. Not sure if a return is possible. Any of Kunitz, Comeau, or Grabner would make me happy as a bottom 6 add
- Tojo.

I'm all for a Kunitz encore and not because of any nostalgia. He fits this team and he's still got something left in the tank. Kunitz would be an upgrade four the fourth line and probably come cheap.

I'd attempt to sign Komarov as well. Of course the Pens would need to move some bodies, but a Kunitz-Sheahan-Komarov 4th line would be pretty awesome.

Not to go off on a tangent, but with the Kane signing I think the Pens can cross any significant UFA targets off their list; that just blew the doors of the market and made Hornqvist look like a bargain.

Any changes the Pens make are going to have go come via trade, so let's hope JR has some magic tricks up his sleeve.

Nah.

When AA gets traded it better be for some legit futures.

I would put Olund, PIT 2nd, and OTT 3rd as a starting point.

I'm not familiar with their prospect Olund, but this sounds like a lot. If AA is a hold out again, I'm not sure how that affects DET's trading power despite him being an RFA. It has to affect it a little, no?

It would only impact it in terms of him getting a label as a locker room cancer or whatever.

I really don't think it is a lot especially for a guy that is going to be 24 and is poised for a 20+G 40+P season imo.

I think that projection is fair. I envisioned him as a high-end 3rd line/complimentary 2nd line player. Just by comparison, i think that gets him around a $3.5M/year contract, but after this Kane deal who knows.

All that said, I think a decent 3rd line winger + a pick should be enough. A roster player, plus two picks and a prospect seems a bit much. Who the heck knows anymore though.

We've seen better players go for less and lesser players go for more.

I didn't ask for a roster player.
