Why do we pay him if he's not taking decisions, then?
- deadpoulet

I haven't really paid him anything.

Was I supposed to chip in?

Oh that’s right he did mention something about the current management group. They chose galchenyuk over forsberg because they thought he was going to play Center.

So we know his Drafted D core would have been Subban, Carlson, mcdonagh, sergachev at least. Forsberg and Kreider added to the forwards. Who know who else. Maybe he should of been the GM.

Hey guys! Haven't been here in a while. Hope you're all enjoying the off-season. Timmins will be fine, and hopefully so will Zadina. Pacioretty on the other hand...

So Zadina is mtl's pick in your opinion? I think it would be easier to trade Pacioretty after that. But what if Bergevin only receive offers like a late first round pick and a B level proscpect? Do we still take that?

I think picking outside the top-3 would be risking his job imo. So I think we get Zadina or Svech. Zadina obviously makes Pacioretty expendable, but not at any price. I'm actually trying to see what possibilities are out there now...

I don't know if NYR tells us to go jump off a bridge, but I'm wondering if Skjei+9th overall would be possible.
I think there could be a market in Vegas, where Bergevin could target Theodore + picks. It really doesn't address the C position but Theodore would be a good partner for Man Mountain, at a reasonable cost.
At C, I think the options are underwhelming... ROR, Henrique, Spezza. Yuck.

I don't think so, Pete.

My point was : what should Bergevin be willing to accept as an offer? The best one and he moves on? Or he signs him if it's too little for a 35 goals scorer?

I don't know that you sign the guy. Might be a Duchene like situation where he gets moved early in the year to a team that had expectations and is suddenly floundering. But even that assumes that he gets crap offers between now and draft.

If he can't upgrade the C position by July 2.

He should be fired.

Timmons was on TSN radio sometime this year to clear the air. I guess he got sick of everyone blaming lack of prospects on him. He talked about the last management group going against his picks. He drafted McDonagh and they traded it away. He wanted to draft John Carlson but was pissed when they traded the pick for Tanguay. He wanted Kreider over LeBlanc and he named another big one that I can’t remember.

That’s just examples of the previous management group. Maybe Bergevin listens to him more. Or maybe he don’t. Timmons isn’t going to reveal that right now because he still works for him.

What's his excuse for McCarron, DLR, Fucale?

I don't see the NYR trading a player and a top 10 pick for a player that is UFA next year, the rangers are going through a rebuilding process, doesn't help them.

and as for the bolded...Bozak or Statsny will be a Habs...most likely the 1st one

So trading Pacioretty for band-aids at C (see previous post on available Cs), over-paying for Stastny, under-whelming everyone for Thornton? Which one do you prefer?
