Was he wearing his helmet at least?
- obie

Yup, and he must be doing well in Leaf class, because he had a big gold star with the word, "COCKBOY" emblazoned on it, I'm guessing it's in reference to the coach?

your prospect cupboard is hot garbage, just look at the Laval Rocket and you will see for yourself.
- bluestar

What does that have to do with the NHL team's D? Nice strawman. Also, we all know the Hab's cupboard is garbage. What a dumb troll.

Well congrats to the Habs as well, they way they have been playing they will ride the basement for a long time, i just don't think Bergevin is smart enough to draft the right players. Even if he had the 1st pick he would somehow blow it and trade it for a winger and try and convert him into a center.
- bluestar

I don't disagree with this, but exactly what brilliant moves has Dubas made as GM? Win the lottery in a year with a good player?

Meh, I still think the GM makes the call in the end. Would really be interesting to see who Timmins ranked in the draft and who the Habs ended up picking. I suspect rounds 1 & 2 are heavily skewed towards GMs making the picks, the rest of the draft not so much.

I'd just hire someone to draft according to Bob Mckenzie's draft list and save tons of money.

I'd like to think you're wrong about this.

The head scout has the most knowledge on all these kids.... sure if there's an internal debate the GM might make the final call but otherwise ffs let the expert make the pick?

The only example I have of what you're saying was the Habs passing on Giroux for Fischer because Gauthier/Gainey wanted a defenseman.

The GM saw a few guys that might end up being the 1st round pick, he didn't see anybody else. Amateur scouts and Timmins make the recommendation to Bergy who says yes. Timmins basically owns every pick after the 1st round IMO
