I really think they could land Tavares by the way. They are a contender with cap space. Unless Tavares think they will come back to earth next season, but I don't know.

Tavares would handcuff Toronto in a couple years, not saying it won't happen but it wouldn't be in their best interest long term

Well, if he wants to win, might as well leave the NY area. I don't know what he wants (outside of money) but how many contenders will be able to fit him under the cap? Maybe Lou will convince him, but that's far from sure. |

With the depth they have I don't see them "crashing". Maybe guys like Karlsson or Perron won't repeat but you have Tuch who will only get better and a poopload of draft picks. |

I think Lou's potential influence is being given too much weight. Nothing can be promised 100% and Tavares knows that. Plus, Snow is still there, at least for now. |
