Don't be too surprised if he trades Freddy to another team and tries and get a real top10 goaltender.

Leddy is way better than Gardiner, yes.

Gardiner had 52 points and was a +9

Both were on teams that were bad defensively. And Gardiner still managed to be a plus.

Gardiner > Leddy

Stats aside, I think most ppl would still agree with that.

I'm not a big fan of that unless it's a Horton type contract. It's probably not a big deal but still would rather Toronto not be the place where vets who can still play get buried.

Having said that methinks there is the framework for a deal around Mason and McElhinney in that regard.

Very similar to Grubauer they both played more regular season than the 'starter' leading up to the playoffs so the coaches went with the hot hand.

Agree, plus minus not the most accurate stat, however when a player is -42, that is -0.5 per game - it is a strong indicator that he is basically a giant bag of sh!t. He is also signed for 4 more years at $5.5 million a year.
Kidney Failure> Leddy, Please give us a break. Gardiner will likely be traded, the garbage in the Leaf's system that was on Robidas Island is better than Leddy.
