Nashville would get a ton for Rinne;

Now would be the time to trade him.

- PatC80

i'd bet lou would be willing to move the #12 for a big name goalie.

maybe columbus doesn't want to re-up bob?
- Tumbleweed

They are in a similar spot than the Habs were a year ago with Price.

Bob will ask for the moon, and rightly so after winning 2 vezinas in the last 5 years.

So you either keep him and are stuck with spending most likely too much on your goaltender OR you trade him and get a fraction of his actual worth.

It's a tough call to make really.

That would be a good move, and a good indicator that Lou is serious about Tavares staying.

Rinne for the #12 pick, Michael Dal Colle and Ilya Sorokin

Bobrovsky is staying in Columbus imo.

Rinne is as good as gone after his last playoffs showing.... Saros is a decent young goaltender.... If I'm the Preds, I move forward with him, saving cap space and preventing another choke job.

- Scabeh

Have to run Rinne one more year. Then let Saros take the reigns.

That would be a big mistake if he plans to play in the NHL.

Islanders imo.

Sorokin is dominating the KHL at 22 years old. Has done so for the last 2 years.

He is putting up really, really good numbers in the KHL. You have to think that is who Poile would ask for.

Isles. He would theoretically be the guy expected to take over from a Rinne/Bob

I feel bad for Lehner. He's not a very good goalie by any stretch of the imagination, but how can you expect him to be a "star" when the defense in front of him sucks ass and the forwards outside of O'Reilly can't play in their own zone?
- AdamFrench

Umm, excuse you? I was told on Twitter that Generational Jackson ECHL was so good in his own end that he was already one of the top 2-way players in the league.

Without a doubt, but have to think that he is someone teams would ask for. Or is only the Leafs that have to trade top prospects and really good young players?

I know Pat.

It's little subtle digs on every topic, player, decision etc. with him. It's been like this for the past year!

Yeah, he is so defensively responsible in his own zone that his coach only plays him in the offensive zone 61% of the time.

Four years ago, we went and hired a bunch of people, plunked them in, and heard a lot of the exact same concerns here in Toronto — ‘It’ll never work, too many chefs in the kitchen, personalities are too big, they’ll never work well together,'” Shanahan said. “Here we are years later and everyone’s saying, ‘Oh my God, why break it up?'”

Gotta love Shanny

His 200ft game really impressed me. Especially when he was on shut down duty with Plekanec in game 4 (i think it was 4?).

He reminds me of a skilled forward that has and will continue to develop some defensive capabilities as, dare I say, Marchand. You know without the licking and general douche baggery.

- RickJames77

Absolutely. I think putting him down the 4th line did help with his defensive awareness this year, it was lacking at the beginning of the year, he became a more effective player this year.
