What stage is Buffalo in?

Still rebuilding?
Rebuilding again (meaning ready to trade players off and start over)
Trying to win now?

I was dead wrong about this last year.

But now with them drafting Dahlin, i'll say it again.

I think this is the year they start having some success!

So they are in the win now stage?

If someone wanted to trade for RoR they would tell them to take a hike?

I'm not sure about "win now" but definetely "Make the playoffs" mode or at least "improve from being a bottom feeder" mode.

And with Reinhart having a decent 2nd half last season.... I think for the right players they'd trade him. They won't give him away though.

They still need a goalie;
I expect them to make some trades to improve. They have a lot of good pieces in place with Eichel, Reinhart, O'Reilly, Mittlestadt, Girgensons, Ristolainen, Dahlin

I feel bad for Lehner. He's not a very good goalie by any stretch of the imagination, but how can you expect him to be a "star" when the defense in front of him sucks ass and the forwards outside of O'Reilly can't play in their own zone?

Yeah, plenty of very good young players on that team.

Defense and goaltending ARE a problem though.... Dahlin will most definetely help but he can't turn this around all on hiw own.

And Risto.... I thought he'd be better than this by now.... still looks very bad defensively.

Dahlin will help with that; They need to find a goalie somehow; Maybe make a deal for Grubauer and hope he pans out; Or make a trade with St. Louis for Allen or Hutton?

they will be just like the Flyers until they get a #1 Goalie.

if I'm the Buffalo GM... I'm talking to Chicago... who would seem to need to move at least one large contract out. If Crawford is available... Buffalo would have the CAP space and would have the assets.

how dare you insinuate that Risto isn't a true number one? He plays 24+ minutes a game... in Garth's mind its not how you play... its the count of minutes.

I think Grubauer is a logical choice for any team looking for a cheap option for a maybe is a #1 gamble.

Crawford would be a good move as well, not sure if he has over come his issues with vertigo. Might not take too much to get him from Chicago.

Depending on what the Capitals needs are; Grubauer would be a good pick up for a lot of teams.

I like Crawford more than Grubuer (butchered it) for Buffalo.

Don't go for another young goaltender gamble at this point.

And this whole vertigo thing is worrysome.

Still, good goaltender though.

i thought the caps may look to move holtby, but not so sure after these playoffs.

bob and rinne may also be on the market. i could see lou wanting to bring in a known veteran for the isles.

Bobrovsky is staying in Columbus imo.

Rinne is as good as gone after his last playoffs showing.... Saros is a decent young goaltender.... If I'm the Preds, I move forward with him, saving cap space and preventing another choke job.

Nashville would get a ton for Rinne;

Now would be the time to trade him.
