Kane was a UFA who scored 29 goals, and not an RFA. Different ballpalk IMO.

I'm with Scabs. If Pasta is the benchmark, then when taking in account inflation he will get closer to 7 at 6 or 7 years.

maybe 6.85? But what's a 150k in cap space anyhoo

Just to be clear. Just got off the phone with Mark Hunter. He said he wanted to run the Leafs draft. “That’s what I do best,” he told me. “I would have done it.” Shanahan decided he didn’t want Hunter there.

Wonder why shanny/Dubas wouldnt want someone making decisions for the Leafs who is out the door?

what about taxes between Boston and TO?

what about the insane media and fanbase he has to deal with in TO?

We'll see.

I think he gets 7 on a long term deal.

Good for the Leafs if he takes less.

- Scabeh

I don't think the Leafs would ever sign that deal. I'd go bridge deal if that was the case. Marner maybe 7, but not Nylander.

Some might say because he's a professional and if decided to completely screw the Leafs he'd never get another NHL job again?

He had every reason to have another successful draft to boost his own negociating power.

But hey, I'm sure they had their reasons.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but he's the best coach that I can ever remember coaching the Leafs going back to Pat Quinn. He's clearly improves players, and holds players accountable.

Also, he is considered to be one of the best coaches by his peers as well.

Yeah if he were to screw over the Leafs he'd be as blacklisted as HOHO is from every "gentleman's club"

Very strange and unorthodox stance from you there.

(frank) knows how you get away with it day in day out.

You make the devil's advocate technique look preferable.

It makes zero sense to keep someone on to do that when they are leaving.

Also I bet Dubas and Hunter have very different philosophies and methods to drafting.

I agree with this; Why have Hunter stay on for the draft if he has no intention of staying.. If he honored the final year of his deal, then he should be at the draft representing the Maple Leafs;

Steve Simmons can go spend some quality time with HoHo's hat... Hunter could have stayed on longer if he really cared about the draft;

Im not basing it simply on stats, but I mean I could easily just bring up other stats

First coach (and only thus far) in the International Ice Hockey Federation's Triple Gold Club - Stanley Cup, WJHC Gold, Olympic Gold. 3 Stanley cup final appearances.

Randy Carlyle, 1 SC win...

Nylander << hamilton

But on an inflation adjusted deal, nylander = hamilton

Kane for 7x7

checking the model I posted yesterday

https://docs.google.com/s...386jVESKSOf0V4/edit#gid=0

Prediction was 7 years - $7,107,358

Pretty close

- senstroll

Looks like the model was off by $107358.....unacceptable.
But really kane at 7 million per are you kidding me? Too much imo.

yeah I noticed that. very subtle but tries to make the Leafs look silly on a pretty easy decision.

It's all day every day for the past year or so. It's little subtle digs on every topic, player, decision etc.

Fair play to him though, if you can, why not?

It's what did Bix in at the end.
