NYI works out a deal with Wsh on Grubauer, and they look quite a bit better in net.

Barzal
Tavares
Lee
Leddy
Grubauer

that's a very decent core.
don't think that JVR will sign with NYI, because Lee > JVR and Ladd is 2nd line LW - NYI is much more in need of good RW (Eberle is quite bad imo).

You forgot Johnny Boychuk at $6 million per year for four more years!

Sure gives Nylander's agent some arguments about how much his client should be paid.

Nah.

Different players. Maroon and to a lesser extent wilson are both smiling about this.

Both are scoring wingers looking at long term deals.

Sure they're different kind of players but tell me you wouldn't bring that contract up if you were negociating for Nylander.

Nylander is temporally an average player, this status will only apply during contract negotiation. If he is to be traded or after he signs a new contract, he will go back to being a top 3 NHL forward behind Lollipop and Toothpick.

Power forward on a ufa deal vs. Scoring forward on a rfa deal.

Pastrnak is the benchmark imo.

Well add cap inflation and you get a very similar deal than what Kane got.

Kane was a UFA who scored 29 goals, and not an RFA. Different ballpalk IMO.

Cap inflation? Pastrnak scored 34 goals and 70 points in his RFA year. Nylander is closer to Ehlers then Pastrnak, and he got 6M, so inflation might be a bit more then that. Not 7M IMO

I have been saying this for a few year now, but here goes again:

Did we trade Gardiner yet?

But seriously, can Dubby pull off the big trade for a 1#d-man? We all know this is what the Leafs need. Get 'er done

I disagree.

Kane is also older and his production, despite playing alot more seasons, doesn't equal Nylanders. If anything by the end of his deal he'll produce even less while Nylander should improve! Kane also had injury problems in the past.... yet he got 7M!

And I don't buy that RFA thing, we're in 2018. Young guys are dominating the league and you're buying UFA years anyway with a 7 year deal.

We'll see.

I think he gets 7 on a long term deal.

Good for the Leafs if he takes less.
