Are you high? JVR had his best goal scoring season because of Marner. Tavares played the season with mostly Josh (frank)ing Bailey as his RW. Please give yourself a shake. With either Nylander or Marner on RW with Tavares, production would increase substantially.

seems to have worked for Pittsburgh... when you do consider the idea of Bozak + JvR for Tavares as the 'trade-off'... its a win-win.

there would be natural competition between Matthews and Tavares (healthy). Marner would be still be engine that drives which ever line he ends up on.

I agree its a low percentage play - and it would depend on JT not going for the highest bid. Islanders/Lou will be able to offer way more money than the Leafs (at least above board). Leafs could unload Gardiner at $4 million and might even give Nylander a bridge deal for temporary relief. Trading for a top d-man is tough, but LV got a bunch of cheap lunch pails for next to nothing that were probably available to every single GM before the expansion draft
