You're not getting Hamilton for Nylander alone bobby.
- Scabeh

Why not?

Think about it? If you're Calgary, your top line would be Gaudreau-Monahan-Nylander.

similar imo. the aging curve for ball players is not much different. there are always outliers but its a big risk signing player long past age 30.

same with injuries.

- senstroll

You think it's the same with injuries....yikes, I'd have to see those #'s.

Plus Bball guys make double the money...they can afford to sign shorter contracts.

Pastrnak also plays with 2 10 top players...like 2 players who are really (frank)ing good.
He has 2 Auston Mathews on his line

Come on man. You’re not getting a one for one deal there. Not even close.

Does that mean Pastrnak is equivalent to Zach Hyman?

Just because a team (won't say who) had to overpay to get Adam Larsson does not mean every team needs to do the same.
Plus, I want to keep Nylander.

That does sound pretty good.

But then you look at the gaping hole it leaves into your defense.

And you walk away.

Slowly.

to be honest, is it really that big of a hole?

Giordano, Hamonic, Stone, Brodie and a good prospect in Rasmus Andersson.

Both the Leafs and Flames would feel like they both won and lost the trade;

Also, keep Nylander here;

off the top of my head these players are injured for the Jays Diaz, Garcia, Stroman, Grichuk, Pearce, Tulo.

donaldson missed 20 games already.

Quickly. Hamilton is their anchor on D for many years to come. Gio is aging,
Hamonic and Brodie hasn’t fit together. They are not getting rid of the Ginger dman especially not for a second line winger.
