Yup, one of those things is definitely not like the others, see ya Mrazek.

re the others: Ghoul and Martel are the 2 that I think may be up in the air, the rest should all get qualifiers.

I doubt Stolarz is worth anything in a trade right now, so might as well just keep him around to see if he bounces back. I could see Lyon getting plucked, but who knows. Should be interesting to see how it plays out. None of the options will help/hurt too much so it's whatever.

Yes, there's not much trade value in a goalie who had half as many knee surgeries as games played in the past year. Hopefully those issues are behind him and he can get his career back on track.

Assuming the cap goes up to 80 million, the Flyers aren't in good shape, they are in excellent shape!!

Hextall has really done a great job when it comes to cap management and re-stocking the prospect pool.

It is easy! Just throw away 4 years of trying to be competitive

Yup, I think there is pretty much no risk losing him in waivers. I think he ends up at LHV with Hart next season. Lyon will be interesting. If he continues to play well in the AHL playoffs and has a strong camp, I can see the Flyers trying to move or just waiving Neuvirth and going with Elliott/Lyon next season. Since the cap won't be much of an issue in 18-19, the Flyers can withhold 50% of Neuvirth's contract to help move him. At one year and an cap hit of 1.25 million, it shouldn't be that hard to move him.

Worse case, if Lyon makes the team, they start the season with 13F, 7D and 3 goalies and wait for the inevitable injury that makes a team want a goalie. Or, Neuvirth just gets hurt blowing his nose one morning in September and problem is solved.

Why not start Stolarz down in Reading and let the goalie situation play out?

As we have learned this year, injuries happen, so Stolarz can play his way back into shape and not be in the way of Hart or even Lyon.

I am VERY comfortable with the thought of Lyon being in a 60/40 split with Elliot next season. Use any means possible to get out from Nuevirth even if it means buying him out and taking the $750k cap hit in 19-20.

All kidding aside, my guess that they look to add a 6/7 depth Dman and good penalty killer for the 4th line in free agency. I don't expect any big signings.

I do think a trade is possible and that they may be looking to add another good center for the top 9.

Well, first off, if Lyon has a very good playoffs and a strong preseason, you might lose him on waivers. If Lyon doesn't outperform the veteran goalies in camp and passes through waivers, then yeah, I'm fine with him and Hart at LHV and Stolie in the ECHL.

I'm about 95% of the way there. I just want to see him looking like an NHL quality goalie in preseason first, so I'm not quite ready to buy out Neuvirth. If Lyon earns an NHL spot, and they can't trade Neuvirth, even with 50% retention, then they can waive him and he can partner with Hart at LHV. Stolie can go to Reading. However, he may want to rent a place on a week to week basis as it shouldn't take long for Neuvirth to go on IR.

I actually think Leier could be in trouble. I think Martel has value with the Phantoms.

Buying out Neuvirth makes no sense when you can stash him in the AHL, and Stolarz had even worse injury issues in 17-18. Unlike Lehtera, he is still a useful NHL player when healthy.
