They are the deepest team in the league but the problem I have with Tampa is they're heavily relying on their Power Play and goaltender. Caps seem to be winning the turnover and possession game. I'm going for Ov now that the Jets are out.
- SuperSchennBros

I'm rooting for Ovie as well. Although if it isn't Tampa winning vs Washington, I do not see the Caps beating Vegas.

Ek says Erik Karlsson 85% to the Rangers.

I would not enjoy that.

- Scoob

Depends, I'll enjoy it if they massively overpay and Karlsson starts to break down over the next few years. That would be awesome!

I know, but still, the thought of Karlsson in the Metro, on the Rangers, is frightening

CapFriendly switched to 2018-2019 if yinz wanna check out what situation the Flyers find themselves in

hint: it is pretty, pretty, pretty good

- YuenglingJagr

Assuming the cap goes up to 80 million, the Flyers aren't in good shape, they are in excellent shape!!

Hextall has really done a great job when it comes to cap management and re-stocking the prospect pool.

Agreed - but I don't think Karlsson is on the break down curve yet

Hextall's already checking out what cap dumps he can take on to reach the floor.

I think Hagg will get 3 years at around $2m AAV.

While his possession numbers have been pretty consistent, his scoring numbers have declined the last 2 seasons. Of course some of that is based on the team around him. He'll only be 28 next year, but he's already had one pretty bad injury and if he even loses half a step, he could start to decline. I have to think that even if it's not a sign and trade, the Rags will have to sign him for 7 years. I can definitely see his contract, which I'm guessing will have an aav north of 9.5 million, being an albatross in 3 or 4 years.

I don't think Hagg gets quite that much, but I think 3 years is reasonable. My guess is the aav is 1.75 and the contract goes: 1.5, 1.75 and 2 million in the last year.

So I was thinking about this goalie thing next year and if Lyon can be your back up would you just waive Neuvirth and go with Hart/Neuvirth in Lehigh?

If you just replace the mitten with a tide pod, all four things are basically the same.

And now I DO have that song in my head. Thanks for nothing Scoob!

Yeah. Not sure what happens to Stolarz. Missing the whle year hurts and Lyon has really played well. Plus Hart now turning pro.

Maybe you flip Stolarz to a team that needs goalie depth for a prospect they want to move who might need a change.

I doubt Stolarz is worth anything in a trade right now, so might as well just keep him around to see if he bounces back. I could see Lyon getting plucked, but who knows. Should be interesting to see how it plays out. None of the options will help/hurt too much so it's whatever.

Not sure how they just keep him around though. Doesn't seem like there is a spot to get much playing time unless Neuvirth gets moved.

Oops, forgot that. So, if the Rags do get him, you damn well know it's not going to be a 1 year rental. I can't wait to see them massively overpay on an 8 year extension when he's 29.
