Nope. That stupid rule no longer exists.
- Steven_Seagull

That's too bad. It was the only way JB could get extra draft picks.

Nothing really changes because most of his rules are staying in place. If they want to fill the senior adviser role, call Ken Dryden. He should be available and if he wants to change the hits to the head, maybe being employed by a team will help get his message into the GM meetings.

Classic! Not that they were for sure going to land JT...but only the Leafs organization would pooch it up like this. You hire a hipster kid in the midst of the most important offseason in recent years. Chance to extend 34, 16, 29, and deal with the JVR and Bozak situation (who the heck will take their place?) AND the chance to land real good game changers in - JT, Karlsson, and to some extent Doughty.

Rather than just extend Lou for 1 more year, you cave to a geeky hipster kids tantrums of: hire me as GM or I’m running away mom/dad.

First blunder of the Shanny era.

One of these days, you’re going to go to the fridge, hungry for some leftovers. Really good ones. And you’ll find them there. And you’ll put them in the toaster oven to warm up, while you’re watching something on tv. You’ll get really invested in what you’re watching, right up until the smoke detector goes off, and then you’ll realize, those leftovers are burnt. They’re gone. Not only that, but you’ve missed the best part of your show.

And you’ll know it’s karma.

Cool.
Cant afford a 10 million dollar C.
Lots of options for C....not worried about that. Its 3rd line center we need...not hard to find. Any kid from the marlies will at 4th.

Not so much for D, need big upgrade.

They can, though. That’s the thing.

I mean, yeah, Backstrom stuck his foot out, but that was a pretty big flop by Palat.

He already served three, now it's time to label him a repeat offender. Suspend him for the remainder of the playoffs to teach everyone a lesson!

Hamilton finally takes the lead over Swift Current. They've been killing them the entire game.

2-1 Hamilton.

My back up idea is Staal out of Minny. I really think he's a good target for depth and could be had for fairly cheap.

42 goals this past season Staal? What’s your idea of cheap?!

Bracco and a 2nd.

Who says he will repeat it? There's a reason he only got 3.5 mil and 2 year deal.

He’s coming off 65 point and 76 point seasons. He was a complete beast this year, why would they even want to move him

Lamoriello wouldn't have signed a 1 year extension. That's one of the most short sighted assumptions you could possibly make.

Its either :

3yrs more of Lamoriello, with Dubas and Hunter leaving
3 years Dubas with the other 2 leaving
3 years Hunter with the other 2 leaving

Take your pick. Shanahan took his. Time will tell.

I am actually distraught. about a few things. just praying this isn't the beginning of more heartbreak for leafs fans. after what we see out of Vegas. how can any ownership/management group look its fan base in the eye and make any excuse for not winning the Stanley cup. or tell us about pain. wheres the pain in Vegas. losing lou and hunter to me is catastrophic. especially now. replacing lou an experienced GM which is an understatement with a child to me is ridiculous. and sorry hunters skill at the draft table was amazing. im actually sick about this. as a leafs fan im hoping for the best and fear the worst. as far as im concerned dubas has a very short leash before i start referring to him as dumbass. as should all organizations be on a short leash. no more excuses. call it the vegas effect. no 10 million dollar players, 5 year plans, just a bunch of players and a coach nobody wanted or thought they needed. vegas deserves to win but in winning has cheapened the league and the stanley cup. Good on the players. shame on the other NHL teams and its so called super stars.
