Lou to the Isles is the best news we could have asked for. It took years of mediocrity and failure from Snow and Co. and a long overdue upswell of anger from the fans to force change, but it worked. The fact that the Isles and their fans can turn the page (finally) on Snow, on complacency, on mediocrity and a lack of desire to compete is tremendous.

I don’t know what this means for JT, but if he doesn’t want to come back to this organization with Lou running the show then so be it. Let him walk. With Lou in command, I’m far more comfortable with Lou in charge overseeing a potential post -JT era than I would have been with Snow overseeing things.

New arena on the horizon. Lamoriello running hockey operations. Things are actually looking up. I’m optimistic.

Friedman and others have reported the final say on all decisions is lous. So therefore snow is essentially removed so those that want him fired who cares he can't retain friend or family he is powerless. This is what yolu all wanted for God sake

Best game I've seen in a long time caps are beating the puss out of Tampa with big hits.

The source said Lamoriello, who turns 76 on Oct. 21, will be in charge of hockey operations, though whether he will be named president or general manager — or both — is still unclear. Regardless of the title, the source said Lamoriello will be allowed to implement his hands-on style of management with final say on hockey matters. -newsday

I mean Garth is in Denmark scouting and Lou’s negotiating/meeting with JT.

That tells you who is going to be calling the shots.

If the Islanders won the Stanley Cup half on here wouldn’t be happy complaining it’s about time

Lou calls over to the mail room....
"Hey Garth, I need you to stop licking the stamps for Sparky's fan mail and earn your paycheck.
I don't speak Chirelli's language but apparently you have that gift. We need Nurse and I want Clutterbuck and that disgusting mustache off my team.
Thanks Garth. And remember... who's my good little boy?"

Love some of the possible names Lou might bring in like David Conte, Jacques Lemaire, and Jacques Caron. Why would Shanny block a draft genius like Conte? Love all talk of possible trades and how Lou was not afraid to deal.

I seriously have to question Shanny for stopping Lou from bringing in David Conte. Shanny did not like all the good players Conte drafted with the Devils? Conte was the Devils Jimmy D.

Look Shanny did a nice job bringing in Babcock, Lou etc. Their team turned the Leafs around in a year. I’m hoping Lou will do the same thing here and as quick. Have to think he will bring in his people.

Sure seems like it could be. Really doubt Lou at 75 years old and after all this success is going to want to put up with games.

Fair enough......you never know with Lawyers. I mean look at the front loading of contracts years ago......and the genius of it. Might I add that Lou Lam was the first to do so....
- kindlyrick

Just got off the phone with a very successful college buddy of mine. He told me that it is routine for high level contracts to have additional money for "no cause" terminations in contracts. Take it for what you will, but I think I was wrong about no additional money for firing Snow. I'm still not sure what defines "no cause" for termination, but I think it has to be something egregious.

I give Shanny credit but he seems to have an ego that can get in the way. Lou wants to bring in a guy with Conte's track record you say yes. We are really going to find out about Shanny now though. I feel good about things 7 in terms of Lou and the Isles.
