From Staple's latest article

Snow and Weight, according to a league source, were unaware that Lamoriello was meeting with Tavares while they were both attending the World Championships. They may certainly have been aware that Lamoriello and Malkin were discussing a role and both those longtime players and executives were also well aware that when Lamoriello takes a job, he’s not taking a back seat to anyone. So Tuesday’s announcement did not come as a shock, given all the chatter beforehand.

Ledecky: Yes he did!
Snow: Why didn't i meet with JT? I'm the GM, right? Shouldn't I meet with him?

Gotcha. Only asking because I had a game at Superior last week and one of the Royals teams was on the ice practicing. I was watching a little and one of the best kids out there had the name "Boulton" on his practice jersey and I thought I saw a dude that looked like Eric hanging around, but I don't think it was him.
- eichiefs9

Yes, his son I believe is an '04 and plays for the Royals (at least he did as of a year ago). He has a younger son too, maybe an '06? That was most likely Eric that you saw, he's there all the time. He helps out with the coaching on that team from time to time.

I get the hesitancy to overpay him, it's there for me too...but JT is absolutely not "just" a $9M player. He's definitely not a $14M player, but $9M is way underrating him.

I disagree

I'm listening and he said I'm familiar with the draft and players and I will see what the scouts with the isles think too. Sounds like he will be making the decision at the draft.

Makes me hate b.d. more as he said it's too late like these guys aren't paying attention to the draft and players all year as well as the current team. To think lou wouldn't be familiar with the Toronto point of view on players is (frank)ing idiotic

No doubt Upstate. Lou is going to have his own ideas regarding the draft and will not just rely on existing people and especially if he cannot bring all his people in yet.

Best line of the interview. What i took from this was in a nice way he was saying he’s gonna ask everyone what they bring to the table. That’s not good news for Snow and Weight.

Hopefully that includes firing Snow into orbit. He's said more in 1 day than Snow did in 12 years.

It's not even the finals yet and Lou still has time if he needs to brush up on the draft. Someone like Lou is prepared and would not go into the draft without a plan.

Dude's an idiot if he thinks Lou would walk into the draft dumbfounded asking people "Who's that guy? Is he good? Should we take him?"
You don't take a position like that and not be prepared. Not know the situation you're getting into.

BDG is an bumhole!

It’s an advantage as Lou has intel from the leafs scouts and the Islanders scouts to go by.

Looks like Business as usual though. It’s Snows draft

I think they are going to let Snow sit in the corner talk to himself in the mirror until he quits.
