I think that is more in regards to weight and him coaching. I honestly think Snow is going to have a paycheck and thats about it. They'll have him do some grunt work, but I think the decision Lou is talking about is the coaching and their system, which CLEARLYYYY wasn't working

Lou is really going to be impressed with Doug's defensive system and all dmen behind the other team's net.

Your kid plays travel hockey right? Do you happen to know if Boulton has a kid that plays for the Royals? No idea what age group, but seemingly younger Midget.

No Idea but my guess is if he has a son playing it would be with the Jr. Islanders since he played and currently works for them. Royals are direct competition so I don't see that being the case

"I traded Griff for Barzal and Beau."

Lou "You can finish out your contract as GM."

Have to think adding Lou will make it difficult for JT to leave.

Gotcha. Only asking because I had a game at Superior last week and one of the Royals teams was on the ice practicing. I was watching a little and one of the best kids out there had the name "Boulton" on his practice jersey and I thought I saw a dude that looked like Eric hanging around, but I don't think it was him.

One thing that stills has me scratching my head was Weights idea of not blocking shots to allow the goalies to see more shots.
Over the last decade or so shot blocking had become a major part to teams success. Players ability to get in front of shots and “take one for the team” became an art.
Now, we hear Weight denounce shot blocking and the isles allowed the most shots and probably the most goals of any team.......it’s mind boggling.

He is an incredible hockey player, seems like a fun guy. I don't know, would like to see him get a cup.

It was a total disaster! The thing that makes me scratch my head is how long it took him to realize. the non shot blocking Man to man scheme wasn't working.

He never realized it or maybe he did but stuck with it. Either way this years team gave up something like the most shots or most goals in the last ten years in the NHL.....i thought i read something like that. Totally inexcusable.

You have to think if Lou didn’t get a good read on JT signing, unlike Snow he’d be listening to offers.

Doug had years to see all the mistakes Cappy was doing and he made things even worse than Cappy. Doug being a good player all those years should have given him better ideas to use not to mention getting some coaching experience the previous year.

Playing around on the stats page on NHL.com....

....4th worst GA/GP in the last ten years (3.05; ATL was the worst at 3.22) and 9th worst SA/GP, averaging 31.2 shots against per game.

It's been like 2 years and I've played two games in the last two weeks. Joking aside, I'm actually still OK but holy (frank)ing balls I am out of shape. Feels like I'm skating in wet cement.

Totally unacceptable. The difference between 4th worst and the worst is basically nothing. Being anywhere close to that stat was unacceptable in year 12.
