I'm sure Lou will read him the riot act, but I don't care what the kid says. If he's better than other players in the organization then he should be playing on the team. Dying on that hill at the expense of icing an inferior roster is stupid.
- eichiefs9

Well as far as his play on the ice and making the smart play or team play and structure, he's not better. As far as dangling and individual skill he's better but imho individual play isn't what the Islanders are looking for. Really not many NHL teams are.

We will disagree on JHS and see what happens with him.

Dehaan and kuhlamin have value I think both would help this team in their own end tremendously
- Upstate_isles

I think the fact Lou is in we have a chance at DeHaan. If it was Snow making the call Dehaan would tell him to take a shat and slide in it!

He should, play 3rd line mins
- Ur Not Me

Typically 3rd lines are shutdown or defensively responsible more so than offensive. JHS and defensively responsible don't go together imho. He has skill and should be utilized on a 1st or 2nd line if he ever gets his head out of his ass !

Even 12 mill seems nuts. I was thinking 10.

There are some on the open market that could give him $14.

If the Cap goes up to $80 mill, the max contract would be $16 per.

He won't. Honestly, I wouldn't have him on my team right now of for the foreseeable future.

I get that but his offensive skill could be needed to those type of lines until he progresses or regresses ??

If you're an NHL executive and you consider reaching out to Slava Voynov for more than about 15 seconds, you're probably a piece of poop.

Or, you could have 3 or more offensive leaning lines and try to run the opponent out of the building.

Jordon Staal is getting 6 Mil. for 10 years ( 2012 - 2022 ). Tavares is worth double especially when you look how much higher the Cap is now versus when Staal signed that lovely contract. Would only be for 8 years as well.

Or sign him to such a deal, then move him to one of the teams who were willing to offer him the same deal.

I'll take him for $14 mill.

Canes will have $32+ million in cap space and only Lindholm, Hanifin, TVR and a Goalie to sign.

Not to mention whatever space we'd have if we do end up trading Faulk.
