Maybe so but cannot force trades.
I’ll take take Dahlen & Goldy for example

- Nighthawk

good examples. But we have pieces to play. Gotta think they'll wanna make a splash at draft next year. Can't wait for this year. #7 will be interesting.

I’ve already mentally prepared myself for a 3-4 year Bozak contract offer. Hopefully he turns ya down.

Ironically, the Canucks were in the running to sign him as a college UFA and his name was constantly brought up in Luongo trade roooomers.

For the love of god. He and Gagner up the middle will single handedly lead us to a top5 next year

idk man, i'm not inside his head. his top 10 was good last year.

EP is was big miss, but everyone has (frank) ups in their rankings.

i think he's missing on dobson this year. merkley seems like a solid 16-20 pick to me.

like you said earlier, he doesn't subscribe to the group think. but i can see how being a one-man show can cause you to miss big on some players.

- Tumbleweed

He's a hard read, to say the least. The thing about him is: no one will know until draft day. I fully expect Wahlstrom to be at the top of his list, beyond that is a mystery IMO

I don't know if hockey sense, heart and effort can be taught. Merkley just doesn't care about defense and makes a lot of dumb plays when he tried to do too much by himself.

He's the kind of guy who will suck the life out of his teammates.

He has the talent to prove everyone wrong, I'd maybe be okay with taking a chance on him if he fell into the 2nd round depending on who else is on the board just because his skill level is insane but that's about it.

id have to agree with this

Depends. For Van I would take Keller or PLD.

All these players have issues though. Kotkanimi is a weak skater and Veleno and Hayton are safe, low upside players. I don’t want a 3C. I’d be ok with Kotkanimi if the scouts think his skating can be improved but the others are projected 8 spots after us for a reason
- CanuckDon

Do you mean a 3c like Bo?

I watched Hayton 6 or 7 times in the playoffs, kid was amazingly talented, new where to be on the ice, made some very nice passes, showed incredible skill, skating was good and was very good defensively.
Looked like a damn fine player too me.

Bo as was projected 3C. Bo learned how to skate and it made him a 2C.

Do you think Hayton has to work on his skating or can improve anything significantly enough to have him go from a projected 2C to a 1C?

If Hayton was projected to be a 1C he would be a top 5 pick. This whole using Bo as an example is idiotic. He is an exception. Most prospects won’t develop their skating like Horvat. It’s very rare!

They were kind of chocking.

prevent the forward movement of (a wheel or vehicle) with a chock.

They were preventing themselves from moving forward into the next round.

Lots/some first line centres aren't top three picks but the best ones are usually top three. Just saying if you're lucky you can find a Getzlaf, Bergeron, Giroux, Kopitar, Kuznetsov, Scheifele, Pavelski, etc. etc. outside the top three.

We still need centers. Even if 4 years down he turns out to be a 3C he has trade value
