If Mike Richards was serious about his hockey career, he would still be in the NHL today. I tip my hat to Laviolette for trying to get his team to focus on hockey. Maybe Lavy went about it the wrong way, maybe he didn't but as we sit here debating who's doing what now, Peter Laviolette is top three in my mind in the NHL today in terms of consistent success. As for not knowing who was going to be moved after signing along term deal, JvR should be more pissed than anyone. He was traded before his deal kicked in.

I won’t say you can label someone a opiate addict based on eyes from TV, but in person, it is fairly easy to tell if someone is on opiates/perks. Had 3 roommates and 2 were heavily addicted as well as having several friends taking that path. Pin pupil eyes is the easy one as mentioned. But paleness, irritations, face marks from picking, difference in weight are just a few. You don’t need to be in the medical field to make these observations. Then again, you’d also have to be exposed to it to have this understanding.

If the beat medical experts can't recognize it they aren't the kinda medical staff you want. And I'm sure the flyers medical staff kept him pain free as most players do. Sadly Richie could never come back from it. It's sad

It's not debatable that Richards had an issue. It is however debatable that you were able to diagnose him through the TV. Credibility is not on your side here.
