In all seriousness nobody deserves it more than the Jets, they have better fans, their players have more heart ect, ect.

Deserves . Funny word choice for, presumptively, an adult to use vis-a-vis professional sports.

Say what you want about fans or the organization "not deserving it" but they're playing under the rules the NHL set up for them. The fans out there are awesome...I was there the night the Devils hung an 8 spot on them and the fans were still great. If they win they earned it.

lol the notion that some fans deserve championships more than others is absurd. this is a hockey players career. they could care less which particular fan wants to see a cup. they just want to win a cup. all the fans complaining wouldnt be complaining at all if it was this team

before the seaosn everyone was saying how bad vegas was gonna be. noone had them higher than the bottom 5. and noe peoppe complain they were handed a stanley cup cslibsr team? grow up. i think its awesome and ive never seen my favroite team im sports win a championship. its not about the fans deservijg it. its about the players

Or maybe we want other teams to win because we have more invested in them??

It's not whiney "they haven't earned it." It's "I like Ovechkin" or "I'm pulling for the Jets because they are exciting to watch."

Those options are Middle School drama bull poop.

Or maybe people don’t want to “actually” post an opinion because it’s saturday morning and people have better things to do?

It would look terrible for the league if an expansion team essentially bought the cup, which is what Vegas is doing. The NHL is already not taken as seriously as the other big sports, this is making it look even worse. If I were an owner (or fan for that matter) you’re damn right I’d be choked that a team was handed a contending team and high draft picks. This is not a good look for the NHL.

I've been on the bandwagon since the 1st round. Until recently, it was just to see how long the story could last. Now, I have to entertain the possibility that they could win the Cup... and I don't mind.

Why shouldn't they win? The only possible answers revolve around concepts that fans have made up and become attached to, like needing to put in your dues, needing to have lost first, needing to build through the draft and so on. If you believe in those things and want the Knights to lose because of them, then you're just being stubborn and selfish because you don't want to be wrong.

There's no reason why the team that's on the ice deserves it any less than any other team that's been on the ice. They've done the work, proven to us that it's a team game and deserve their success.

I give total props to George McPhee and Gerard Gallant, they were very smart in the way they acquired the players that they did and how they managed to create a winning culture so quickly. The Ownership and Marketing have been top notch. It was amazing watching the opening of the game 3 of the Conference Finals. That being said, I agree with the guy that said this team was a creation of the NHL to succeed as quickly as possible, I'm sure the league is thrilled that Vegas exceeded even Bettman's expectations. They made the freeze rules so that teams would either have to leave a really good player available or teams would have to work side deals and feed Vegas with prospects or picks. The problem I have is that I think this the first time since the original Expansion in 1966 that only 1 team came in as an Expansion team, They didn't have to share the exposed players with another Franchise, They didn't really have to fight through the Hardships of trying to grow a winning culture like every other team, who entered the NHL as an Expansion team. So in that regard Vegas is a team created by the league to succeed.

yes, but you can't get past the fact that these players ALL could have been kept by other NHL teams.

The Vegas players have absolutely earned it, but as a fan, I don't want any fanbase winning a championship in the first season!!!

Not fair...wahhhh

william karlson had like what, 8 goals in 2 seaosns? and suddenly people are saying its unfair vegas got to take him? yall wouldnt have traded a 7th rounder for him last seaosn lol. Florida gave Vegas 2/3 of a scoring line. Thats not Vegas fault. Even then those players only topped out at 50 pts. the only bonafide stars they got were fluery and neal. lol at that defense. their no1 is nate schmidt who wouldn't be a 1 on most teams. they regularly play englyend and luca sbisa and you think theyre stacked??

I didn't like the fact that the players eligible for expansion were...expanded upon. They essentially paid money to get a better team. If you look at the team Atlanta iced for that first season, you can see the difference.

At the same point, the players have no blame or fault in this. I root for the players of Las Vegas, but not the management...if that makes any sense. I don't want the Cup to be bought and paid for, but I also don't want to take anything away from a team that is playing well and working extremely hard to succeed.

The Vegas players have earned it ... but its a damn shame that an expansion team may/probably win the Stanley cup .... kind of infuriating

This.^^

No one that looked at the lineup before the 1st game and thought " Yeah they are going to be a cup contender."

Full marks to Gallant and the players. Fun, hard working team to watch.

Because fans pay thousands of dollars to support their team that is run by an nhl old boys club all making millions and very few of them have a clue about what they are doing. A team of cast off comes in and buys into a system and makes the rest of the superstars look bad.

I think it's great personally. I'd far rather watch Vegas and they make it look fast and simple rather than a bunch of individuals hot dogging it.

I'm from Pittsburgh, so I did see the very best of Fleury and the very worst. I am one of the rare people from our city that is not rooting for Vegas. For 5 years I watched our Penguins bow out of the playoffs. I'm not saying it's totally Fleury's fault, but he didn't play the way a Stanley Cup winning goalie should play. These were series where the Pens outshot and out chanced the other teams they played, but yet the other goalie just seemed to play a little bit better than Fleury. Also, I really don't think the Pens would've won the Cup the last 2 years if Fleury was in net for those entire playoff runs. Yes he did steal the series against Washington last year, but Sullivan made the right move putting Murray in against Ottawa. At this point I'm rooting for Tampa to win it all.

When the Vegas team was drafted. I couldn't see any of this happening. I thought their D was weak, and their offence couldn't win with the 4 lines they were running on the ice. Boy, was I wrong. Also, didn't the Blues go to the Stanley Cup in their 1st season?

Why???? I've attended/watched Sabres games for almost 50 years just hoping the team will win a Stanley cup some day ... Vegas has a very good chance of winning it this year and if not this year they are strong enough to win it next year
