Norway was doomed regardless of Sweden’s neutrality. Hitler was never going to risk important ports such as Narvik falling under Anglo control. That would have crippled the import of critical iron ore shipments from both Norway and Sweden. It certainly didn’t help matters when England illegally mined the waters of Skjaergaard in April 1940. Your nation and it’s shipping lanes/resources were just too important to both sides during WW2.

Have you read Natural Born Heroes? It's about the Crete resistance kidnapping a general and bogging the Nazis, splitting them in multiple fronts helping them lose Russia. It's written from the perspective of tracing those steps and how the Cretan's lifestyle (insert goat(frank)er joke) made them strong.
I've listened to it thrice, and I'm sure it's number one on Lawyer Pete's list.
When did you get so scmucking fart?

I have not, but I shall look it up.

Military history is an avid interest of mine. I don’t sound particularly clever when I discuss anything else. Just ask my wife.

Sounds like most of us.
Man I could swear you're my buddy Dave, he can talk military history for days, almost became a history teacher. I got him a photo book from a German soldier's (great?) grandson a few years ago for Christmas. Fantastic book if you can track it down. I'll have to ask him who put it out since it was originally a kickstarter deal.
NBH is quite a different take on the standard war books, but you might enjoy it.

IF they did, which I heard different accounts, kinda would think they would have waited to at least interview him..no? Is there any reports that Keefe said no to an interview w/ NY?

- rrentz

I’m just guessing.maybe Gorton has had discussions with Shanahan? Keefe is under contract, doubt they’d wait to talk to him unless they already had an idea Toronto would allow him to leave. As I said, maybe they have future plans for him. I’m sure they talk.

The hiring of Quinn may not be officially completed until tomorrow, since Gorton is returning to NY sometime today from the World Championships in Denmark.
Barring either a breakdown in the final contract negotiations, or should Quinn possibly change his mind again, to remain with his close friends on the street meat scene in Boston, he is likely their best candidate that's currently available without any further wait, who fits what management and Dolan were looking for in a developmental type coach.

I doubt that very much, since the Leafs in now having a new GM in Dubas, would not likely allow Keefe to talk to any teams while he is still under contract. Keefe would be next in line to succeed Babcock if necessary.
The word late yesterday had it that Rangers management (with Gorton traveling back to NY today from the World Championships in Denmark), would not want to wait any longer to have those talks if Dubas did allow them, with Keefe's Marlies team still playing in their postseason.
As a result, I would also gather that the Rangers were not also willing to wait to see if they would have permission to talk to Caps assistant, Todd Reirdon at some point after their postseason ends, with Barry Trotz's contract expiring, and Reirdon having expressed his interest in the past to be a head coach at some point.

I dont see it happening but I would love Tampa or Washington to smack them in the final. that said I dont see anyone beating them.. esp with how little hockey they have played this postseason to get to the final

I think anything can happen. I am really bothered that Washington might just roll over and die in that series. Tampa has the skill to do it but they don't appear to be firing on all cylinders most of the time. They can't start a cup final down 0-2 and expect to win again.
