Unlike Devils fans in regards to Uncle Lou's just final year or two only as Devils GM, Isles fans can see what a "great" Hall of Fame job he did with the Leafs, in not bringing in one or two good defensive d'men (like McDonagh) to solidify their roster at any point of this past season.
So now, he can resign Tavares as an Isle, and also sign a Kovy & VanRiemsdyk which he both had in separate locations, and as one dopey Isles fan said on EK's blog yesterday, have Matthews brought in (in exchange for ???, ... he never mentioned any pieces).
Lamariello can bring in a Yankees squad of offense, and that Isles team will still never succeed, as long as they have no defense, and only one goalie if brought back, who can only mainly beat the Rangers of the A.V. Era.
Some Isles members cried on related blogs in regards to the Expansion Draft, (whose rules can use some minor tinkering), due to Vegas winning their first 3 Playoff Rounds thus far, in their very first year of existence.
But I feel their members cried greater so because for their Isles, it has required dating back to 1988 for them to win a COMBINED TOTAL of 3 PLAYOFF ROUNDS!

Starting with the very first post following your last one, you can begin reading again this second of "the last two pages", in page #20 now, Cranny! Or, at least read those starting at 5:13 pm, in not knowing what may arrive on here after the 7:31 pm one to upset you even further.

With word that the Sharks are close to a new deal with Evander Kane for 7 years at $7M annually, that could take them out of the running for Tavares should he reach free agency. Including their current free agents to be on July 1st, that would leave them with about $7.5M in cap space, based on the CURRENT cap being $75M, but due to increase shortly. So other cap shedding moves would likely be necessary for them to sign Tavares, even if the cap space increases by a few million bucks or so up to the maximum projected $80M.
The presumed signing would also mean that the 2nd Round pick in 2019 that the Sharks traded in part to acquire Kane prior to the deadline, would instead become a 2019 1st Rounder if they re-sign Kane.
