Yeah, he got crushed! How good has DSP been in the playoffs? I wanted him before the Devils got him. |

Not sure who it was behind G, Connolly? He might have taken the worst of it. |

Oh ok. He hit his head pretty hard on the ice. Then Miller took a flying elbow from Stamkos. Guess the league doesn't do the mandatory quiet room during the playoffs? |

Maybe they finally informed the Spotter's that these guys can withstand a little more punishment than what they could themselves. |

I just remember when they took Hank out and we got scored on. Didn't even know they did that up until that point. |

Just because I know how much you guys love Corey Pronman, here's two players I've seen some of you talk about that are on his "Do-Not-Draft List"
Jett Woo, D, Moose Jaw-WHL
July 27, 2000 | six-foot | 205 pounds
GP: 44 | Goals: 9 | Points: 25 | Shoots: Right
Skating: 60
Puck Skills: 40
Physical Game: 55
Hockey sense: 55
Ric Flair’s favorite NHL prospect and the former fourth-overall pick in his WHL Bantam draft had a fine, albeit unspectacular season. He was hurt a few times but did play in a top-four role for the best team in the WHL. Woo is a very good skater with the mobility to lead a rush and stay with fast forwards. He’s a hard-nosed defender who leans on his checks and is often described by scouts as a throwback type of player. His value leans to his defensive game more than his offense, but when Moose Jaw was hurting, he slotted into a top power play role and was decent in doing so. However, he didn’t play power play for most of the second half following trades. His hands are just OK, but he moves the puck reasonably well. Realistically, he won’t be a power play guy in the NHL and his limited upside just kept him out of pick range for me despite his great feet and work ethic.
Nils Lundkvist, D, Lulea-SHL
July 27, 2000 | 5-foot-11 | 180 pounds
GP: 28 | Goals: 2 | Points: 5 | Shoots: Right
Skating: 50
Puck Skills: 50
Physical Game: 40
Hockey sense: 60
Lundkvist was a riser this season in part due to a growth spurt, no pun intended. Who am I kidding, pun intended. After never playing for Sweden internationally, he became one of the more important players for their U18 team, was named the top defenseman in Sweden’s junior circuit and at times was playing top-four minutes in the SHL for Lulea. He finds himself on this list due to the fact there isn’t a ton of upside in his game due to his size and talent level. He’s not a very flashy player, but he’s very smooth. He can skate pucks up the ice or out of trouble, but he’s more comfortable just making a good pass. He’s not a basic player and can hold onto pucks for a few more seconds to wait out options. I don’t think he has a ton of skill, though, in terms of being able to dominate a shift or create a chance without help. Defensively, he’s solid despite his size. He closes on guys well, makes good decisions and can win a few battles. |

For where they are project to go, I see no problem with drafting a player with the attributes that he lists. I don't expect my late first/early second round pick to be a Superstar.

I don't personally like Woo much in the 1st or 2nd round, but that's just my opinion. I still wouldn't have him on my "do not draft" list
But you're right, he puts them on that list and then lists a bunch of reasons why they're actually pretty decent picks depending on where they're taken. |

The funny thing is if you look at what he writes about Lundkvist I would definitely take a chance on him with a late 1st. |

He's saying Ludqvist isn't the next Brian Leetch, so don't bother drafting him. Sounds like a pretty decent player to me. I say we draft him for the real reason you want him on the Rangers. |

He may not be. But if you are getting close to that pick and he's still on the board, might not cost as much as you think to move up from the 39th pick to grab him at say 34-35.

True. Draft day is going to be fun. I hope Gorton is an animal doing all sorts of crazy poop.
I really like Lundkvist because he is almost a year younger than everyone else in the draft. Kind of like Chytil. You wonder where they would be given another year for the next draft. |

Just makes no sense to me. let's trade every asset we just got for a dude a year away from free agency. |
