Well the reports are that Lamoriello will assume full control of hockey ops. That could mean he wants to be an overseer of things and appoint a new GM, or let Snow keep his job but essentially be stripped of his decision making power. Who knows, it's early to speculate...but this is as much about Snow losing his power as it is about who they brought in. They're already in better shape than they were an hour ago. - eichiefs9
I'd be more excited about what he'll do with the 11th and 12th picks than I would about him making Tavares stay

Unfortunately.
I was hoping for 10 more years of Islanders suck.
Unless Uncle Lou can get that arena built at Belmont in the next 2 years, I don't think it will really change Tavares' mind if he really wants to leave. Re-signing with the Isles means he will be playing Barclays/LI Coliseum for the next several seasons under less than optimal conditions. I mean, who seriously wants to shuttle back and forth home games between 2 arenas?
While it is a good move for the Islanders franchise to bring in Lamoriello, I don't think its going to convince JT to stay. We will see... - TommyGTrain
Just like the Rangers have multiple issues of any type, so do the Isles with many more than just the Tavares situation.
That's due in majority to the Isles mismanagement for a few decades in their front office and more, as best depicted by this playoff series stat. comparison:
(1) Knights: Year 1 Expansion Team 2018 - 3 Series Wins (& playing for a Cup Win).
(2) Isles: Since 1988 Postseason - 3 Series Wins in Total in the Last 30 NHL Seasons (with 1 Series Win in 2016 & 2 Series Wins in 1993). (The NHL Lockout cancelled the 2005 NHL Season.)
Since missing the postseason for 7 straight years from 1998 through 2004, after the 2005 NHL Lockout, the Rangers have 11 Series Wins in 11 Postseasons played in during the last 13 seasons, all in the full King Henrik era, for what that's worth to some.
The Devils have 3 Series Wins in the previous 11 Seasons dating back to 2008, (with all being in 2012), and 5 Series Wins overall dating back to after the 2005 Lockout.

My completely-unfounded gut feeling is that Snow gets kicked upstairs to some executive position not related to running the day-to-day hockey stuff and Lou goes shopping for a new GM. Either Mark Hunter comes with him or he goes after Fitzgerald. Snow is already listed as an 'Alternate Governor' on the Isles website so my guess is he rides out his stupid contract being Ledecky/Malkin's little servant boy in return for keeping his bloated paycheck and saving some face by not being outright shitcanned.
Purely speculation, but I don't think it's too far outside the realm of possibility.

He wanted a Vegas tattoo but he pissed off that artist mid process and he got a Vegan tattoo instead. - Pete V
No Ragerts!
"Hey when you're done tattooing me, wanna grab a burger?"
"(frank) you man, I'm a vegan! And now so are you!"
I was thinking that maybe he could "somehow" cover the N up with an S.

Love that part of the movie. Other than the stripping scene.
Yea I think JT Miller is what he is, a very streaky player. Can look like a top line player at times and a 4th liner at others. Not sure he will ever find that consistency. Doesn't bug me the Rangers decided to move on.

Why do I feel like if Lou was coming to work for NYR we would be getting mocked that an old (frank)er who the game is passing by is our new savior - mrn22

You are so right!
The Isles are such a mess that anything is an upgrade.
