Folks, let's talk about:
#9 + Brendan Smith ($12.4m actual salary next 3 years)
for
#4 + Bobby Ryan ($30m actual salary next 4 years)
?
I love this idea. I know I'll get killed for it, but I can explain why I love it. - tomburton99
CRAzY!
Smith can come into training camp, be in great shape and have good year, and his contract will be fine. Ryan's contract will NEVER be a good one. The difference between 4th and 9th pick is in NO way worth that horrible contract for the next 4 years. You speak CRAZINESS |

Bobby Ryan has 58 points in the last two years. Taking on a $7 million plus contract for the next four years for the right to move up to a draft spot which is just out of the money is just nuts.

Seems like a stretch to consider any assistant "dog poop", no? I mean they're tasked with working within the confines of the systems that the head coach chooses to deploy. If the system is poop I find it somewhat hard to place blame on a guy who doesn't have the option to change it. |

I know. He is obviously not a bad coach. Maybe Arniel will win the cup next year. |

If I remember correctly this might have been one of Arniels best special teams years. |

You're telling me a coach that has Crosby, Malkin, Murray, Letang, Kessel can do well?

AV would finish last with them after taking them to the cup finals and losing the year before. |
