My cousin cut the cord last year and uses whatever Vue's highest tier is for like $75/mo and he swears he'll never go back.
- eichiefs9

Yea I would but really HBO and Showtime are the only benefits of the highest tier and I just stream them through HBO GO anyway. But yea overall you can't beat it. Playstation was pretty smart with this Vue idea.

I would assume so. Idk though. I have cable because I want the NHL network. I also have a PS4 and an Xbox 1.
- tomburton99

I stream mine through a fire stick, works fine. But its my roommates account. Just not sure if you need a playstation to set up the account or if anyone can since you can stream it through multiple devices.

It's not like he's not a useful player and it's only four years of that garbage cap hit. Unless the Rangers have one hell of a rebuild in the next three seasons, he'll probably be a deadline-day deal in year 4 of the contract.

An expansion team is playing for the Stanley Cup with a bunch of guys that other teams put on the trash heap. I don't think rebuilds have to follow the old school assumption that they have to take 5 years. That's just what management of certain clubs sell to their fanbase to justify their incompetence.

I would say Vegas will be the exception, not the rule. If Seattle manages to have similar success I'll change my tune, but I think Vegas just caught a few GM's sleeping and selected a good supporting cast from the rest of the pack. The chances of that happening again are pretty slim, now that a couple of teams have some major egg on their face.

That said, the Rangers goaltending situation will approach being a big question mark soon, so even if they expedite their way through building the rest of the team...that's still a big hurdle to clear. Shestyorkin is a really good prospect, but goaltending is such a crapshoot that you can't assume he'll be a star here.

Career years from Karlsson, Marschessault, Colin Miller, Hauala, Smith, Engelleand, Nate Schmidt will have a big swing on where a team finishes. Also, this just proves how stupid the Florida Panthers are.

MIN giving them Tuch is a criminally-underrated stupid idea, too

Very true. Anaheim just allowing Shea Theodore to get away for nothing is also bad.

Sure, but the Rangers have a couple of things going for them. First, they will have 6 (or maybe 7) first round draft picks over a three year period and a bunch of other picks). Second, the have decent pieces already in place. And finally, they are actually a place where free agents want to sign, so they can land the big fish at some point.

So do you support getting Ryan if it means the 4th overall pick?

No f'ing way. Unless either Zadina or Svenchnikov drops there, which you wouldn't know until draft day. I think the Rangers can get a very good player at 9 (or on a smaller scale trade up).

Yeah I think those moves have the potential to look as bad as Dale Tallon's, given some time. Tuch and Theodore could end up being really talented players. They've already flashed it at times, up to this point.

I meant that the Florida Panthers in general, allowed the Knights to get Smith, Marschessault, a 4th round pick and Gallant because they value Petrovic and Dale Tallon's archaic view on hockey.

Yeah but you don't see many teams make deep playoff runs without goaltending. It's as essential a position as QB's are to NFL teams.

It's entirely possible that Shestyorkin is a stud, I'm not dumping on the kid here, but you've got another year until he makes the jump to NA. Two more years left on Hank's deal after that and they're not going to kick a HOF'er that gave them everything he had to the curb. So he doesn't figure to get big-time minutes until 2022 and then he's gonna take awhile to reach his full ceiling, if he ever does.

I'm not so convinced that Smith won't regress a little, but that move has the potential to be Erat-for-Forsberg-level bad.

I don't think Smith will be great player. But he's had two 50 points seasons prior to this 60 points season. But again it's just amazing that Dale Tallon was like please take Marschessault. And if you take him we'll give Smith and 4th because we really like Petrovic.

Yeah giving up Lindberg seemed like the best move made during that expansion draft. Almost every other moved worked out in favor of the Knights. Which is insane.

Per multiple NHL sources, Jim Montgomery turned down significantly more money from NYR to take the Dallas Stars job.

and, it really worked out, because a lot of people wanted them to take Grabner instead of Lindberg, and we got hell of a deal for Grabner from the Devils
