Worlds >>> World Juniors

I think Hughes is better now, the future is a different matter.
There's the age difference, Hughes is ahead in development.
- also, every single Swede develops slower vs other nationalities,
its a proven fact, why Dahlin be any different?

Not playing at the worlds, because his body isn't ready for this level of hockey yet
didn't dominate the ice as a d-man in the SHL, was far away from best d-man,
played really well (most of the time) but, didn't dominate, didn't play the way of the hype.

Hughes is playing at the worlds and everyone can see how really well he has played so far,
his role has grown (from 7th to 6th) so, we can all see him play even more so from now on.

Like McAvoy was NHL ready, is Hughes, Dahlin is not.

Now obviously, these are all my opinions and my opinions only

Dahlin plays against older & more physical competition
How can u say he’s not ready, but Hughes is?

Were you wearing your nylander rose colored glasses to scout Hughes over dahlin?

Teams we should be targeting to trade with:

Edmonton, Montreal, Vancouver
-supposedly ALL these teams need to win NOW, or else ppl are getting fired

Also,
NyI might be willing to try something last minute to convince Tavares to stay
So we should probably give them a shout too

I do not think he's better ... I just find it funny when buffalo finally gets the golden ticket and now people are downplaying how good he is

NHL fans are now saying Quinton Hughes is better than Dahlin

You heard that correctly .

Have fun

Here are the contracts

I am trying to find the article that had point totals.

edit: That might have been on the radio. I am surprised I cannot find a database on the internet that allows me to combine seasons.

- Mentalorgasm5

I am curious if it had goalies and defensemen in there

As far as points go I tend to agree he is probably around that 30th range in points.

U can’t say that though
His logic only works when it fits his narrative

- jdfitz77

A. It was a joke, because the worlds are a very meaningless tournament that I couldn’t care less about

B. Comparing McDavid and O’Reilly is so moronic I don’t know where to begin

And how many players have missed a chunk of a season that puts them behind O’Reilly.

How many times was O’Reilly top 30 in scoring the last three years

Don’t pay attn to the haters

Also, specifically with Hughes...
isn’t he pretty tiny?
I’ve heard his development path is gonna be another year in college, then at least a year in the AHL, before he is playing in the NHL
I might be confusing him with someone else (a few of those top10 defensemen are small-ish), but i thought he was like 5’9 & only like 175lbs
That’s not “NHL ready” size

So is comparing O’Reilly to 4th liners,
but that doesn’t stop you

Not really
U often see 3rd line types playing with an outstanding Center & still are useful players

Obviously you’d prefer to have Kessel/Hornqvist play with Crosby or Malkin,
But when they’ve let guys like Sheary & Kuhnackle, etc fill in the line has still been successful

Pretty rare (i think) that i can play a 3rd pair quality defenseman 20+ minutes a night against top talent & not see him get taken advantage of

- jdfitz77

Don't think you read the original post very well. Also doubt you believe they don't need to make several winger moves this summer.

Just to go further

ROR was the 12 highest paid center in the 2017-2018 season

He had the 32nd most points amongst center

Something tells me where ever you heard that stat about his point totals is incorrect (66th in the league)

Points over 3 year ranks

15-16 when Eichel was a rookie- 44th
16-17- 64th
17-18 - 66th

Idk that Phoenix needs to win now though?

Ottawa GM has gotta be on the hot seat
If they keep #4 this year, they have to give us their 1st next year to Colorado
Obviously they would get crucified if it ends up turning into Jack Hughes
Plus, what are they doing with Karlsson?
Will they move Hoffman?
Will their owner let them pay Stone?
*id definitely call them about Stone

I just did some more digging using just last year as an example

He was 32nd amongst centers last year

In fact in 2015-2016 his first in Buffalo he was tied for 41st in the league
tied for 60th in 2016-2017

There is no way that is an accurate stat

Phoenix coyotes are struggling at center And also if you look at the Winnipeg Jets they might be in the market for second line center come summer time

He ranks lower and lower each year in terms of points but obviously there’s no way he declines, right?

Idk how far back that convo goes,
i didn’t back read much

Just saying,
u can take 3rd line talent & they can be decent on the top line
Harder to do that with 3rd pair defensemen

And yes,
Of course i do believe we need winger upgrades
Not at the expense of trading Risto though
That would leave the RH defensemen on our roster as Nelson, and a Bogosian who can’t even seem to get through Camp healthy anymore

I know Dahlin has played the right side at times, but everything I’ve read says that he’s mostly played on the Left & that it would be smarter to at least start him on the left side

I'm hoping this is also an indication of the direction the league is going in terms of more goals scored.

True
I’m sure there’s other teams too (Carolina)
I just don’t know that any of them are in as desperate shape as Montreal, Edmonton & Vancouver

Those GMs are all on the hot seat & about to get fired
