Canucks just need to continue building through the draft and focus on skill and speed.

We'll see, but I don't see coach Green feeding him those minutes next year?
- LeftCoaster

Does TG want to go to the cup finals or not? That's the real question.

I'd rather have Marchessault or Smith than Gudbranson.

Don't get me going on Bennings attempts to find some "gems" while wasting assets in the process.

For sure, we've yet to see Benning add picks through trades because he's been trying to be competitive.

Yup sitting on the fence. I still don't like Benning I still think he is in over his head . I don't like his image and I don't like his honesty and loyalty to players.

So you don't think we'll have 6 players out with injury at the same time again?

I have yet to see what he's good at as a GM?

I hope the draft is busy getting rid of those players

I do agree that he was given a hell of a running start. A blank slate + those expansion rules in the cap era is a very solid position to be in. Even if he did technically start with "nothing"

Also, hiring Gallant was a fantastic move.

it was a key move. No SCF without him

I doubt it unless Mike had him at 19.

A guy like Serron Noel would be great here . We need a player like him. KAndre Miller would be great. There is no reason to start this season with Tanev

Yeah, give us something more entertaining than counting Tanev's days injured.

I don't understand why Trevor Linden and Jim Benning continue to hang on to guys hoping, at what point do you cut them loose and move on?

From non existing to the SCF in one year

I hope Benning is taking note. It does not take 10 years to build a contender.

Noel is interesting. Apparently another one of those guys who has a big frame and soft hands, but is frustrating to watch because he'll have a dominant game and then do nothing the next game. That was the same knock on Mantha as well and he's turned out to be solid for Detroit. Just gotta hope he isn't another Steve Bernier or Benoit Pouliot

They felt like they owed it to the Sedins to try to make the playoffs. Hopefully now they'll finally realize what they need to do. Build around the next core, move players who'll be on the decline by the time this team is a consistent playoff team again. Sign short term stopgaps to replace them if they're worried about depth and protecting the kids or whatever.

They probably would've done the same with Kesler if he didn't want out.
