I've been looking at it and I'm not sure garbage is the word. I think under utilized would be more appropriate. Lots of these guys never got top minutes, didn't get PP time. Then guys that played the same amount of other teams.

he got a lot of quality prospects that were NHL ready and untested to pick certain players. He was lucky that a lot of them proved to be NHL players and William had a break out year. But i remember myself and someone else saying we should hire Gallant and fire Willy mid season and were laughed at.

He picked well with the guys made available to him though, speed appears to have been a high priority. Fleury certainly helped!!!

Getting picks to protect players from an expansion team is apples & oranges from EVERY other expansion draft.
