From what I'm getting, a culture change is what's needed.
Get rid of 3 "problems" in one move;
Rask(you basically called him a quitter)
Faulk(you basically called him a quitter too)
Skinner (UFA soon, will price himself out of Carolina)
They can all be Maple Leafs |

you guys vastly underestimate Liljegren's ceiling.
Leafs won't even do Liljegren + 2nd for Hanifin - and they like Hanifin alot |

I don't think trading Nylander for Hanifin constitutes "fire sale price".
I did start with a fire sale offer hoping Waddell is dumb enough. I'd accept Nylander for Hanifin though. As I said earlier, the deal should hurt both parties just a bit. |

Hyman - Matthews - Marner
Skinner - Kadri - Nylander
Marleau - Rask - Brown
Johnsson - Lindholm - (insert UFA signing here)
Rielly - Faulk
Dermott - Zaitsev
Borgman - Ozhiganov.

I agree.
My point was in reference to 'if not one of the 'big three' then Hanifin won't be moved'
in my view, Liljegren in 1 year is more valuable to Leafs than Nylander. |

At the end of the day for the Canes values of players will be decided by Waddell and or the owner. Personally (IMO), Hanifin hasn't proved sh!t yet in the NHL, he had 32 points, played about 19 minutes a game and was -20 on a mediocre team that is offensively challenged. Hanifin could turn out to be exceptional, or he could be the next Ryan Murray or Jack Johnson. If the Leafs were to trade a proven high end right winger like Nylander, they would be better off to overpay for a proven d-man like Seth Jones, add in say Gardiner and a prospect and it might be interesting for another team that can't score. Besides being proven, Jones has a very good long term deal in place. Hanifin might cost too much and he's up for a contract - he might just be looking to get paid, before he's actually produced.

All Personnel decisions are being made by committee, allegedly.
Dundon, Waddell, Dudley, Krepelka, Tulksy, Tatum, Olczyk and Brind'amour all get a say.
Brind'amour said if Dundon wants to do something that's stupid, it's up to them to tell him why it won't work. |
