Shea Weber breaks his foot blocking a shot, missing more than 5 games for the first time since 2008.

Weber was banged up this year but he's been relatively healthy throughout his career. That being said I wouldn't trade anything of value for him.
He's a legit #1 D-man and every team would love to have him...not going to argue that...but you just can't take on a contract like that.
I honestly might decline Weber for a 5th rounder just to avoid the contract.
Only potential silver lining is if he decides to retire early and Nashville is willing to pay to take him off your hands and stash him on LTIR instead of getting hit with the cap recapture fees. Nashville's cap gets mangled if he retires early. |

He misses a lot of time every 33 years or so. I don't see what your problem is with that guys comment. |

"Apparently on TSN radio out of Montreal it was reported that PK Subban would likely be traded out of Nashville..."
that's Montreal trying to save face from getting their asses kicked on that trade with Nashville |

The only risk to his contract is if he doesn't retire. If he does, Nashville gets screwed.
The only reason to not pick him up is if you expect to be right up against the cap already, before you get him and you value the players putting you up against the cap more than Weber.
Honestly, I would like to see him on the Leafs... just not sure we can afford him. |

I think this makes sense. Montreal could really use Bogosian and also a guy that looks like Michael Jackson's reanimated corpse |

Bogosian can be put on LTIR about 1/82 of the way through the season so more cap space for MTL.
and
Have you seen Matt Moulsons mustache?
It all makes sense. |

I think they could afford him. If they're looking at taking a run at Tavares/Doughty/etc., then Weber comes in much cheaper than those guys...he's just not expected to be as effective in years 4-8 of his remaining deal than one of those other guys are expected to be for their supposed final years.
At the end of the day, I doubt the Canadiens would trade him to the Leafs for a price that actually makes taking on the risk of that contract worthwhile...and by no means would I be willing to give up significant assets for him unless they're retaining a couple mil on that deal. |

haha Weber and Price not going anywhere soon... keep dreaming other cities... i saw people said Weber vs Seabrook.... yeah ok make sens hen ? bunch of BIPPPPP !
Shea is a stud and a training machine... i think he can play past 40 just like Chara... you don't really need speed when you are big and strong...the only way i see Weber getting trade is to have a very good young d-men in return... we are not in need of making cap space so it will take a EK of a deal ! |

My Leafs should make a strong push for Weber, he's the perfect fit for Reilly.
Nylander and a 1st for Weber and McCarron - Feeling_Glucky
are you bombed feeling glucky?
why would you get rid of a young skilled player in Nylander for a washed up d-man who is slow as molases and has a brutal cap friendly contract plus getting a waste of a 1st rounder in McCarron?
I hope you are kidding with this request..... |
