You can find a good defensive center that doesn't make $7.5 million per season that will get you 30 points a year
- Stripes77

Starting the year with Mitts as #2 doesn't make a lot of sense to me. We have no idea what he is going to do. I have high hopes for him but it might take a year or two before he is ready to be the #2 center and have Asplund as #3. Now if they sign JT, then it's a different story.

You sure you know what you're talking about? Apparently he won the faceoff that led to the GWG.
- Hatboro_Swords

I said I never watched team canada

he was playing with mcdavid so my guess is ror took the face off and moved to the wing

he was down low for the goal, and how many centers are down low?

if you can wing it for your country, you should be able to wing it for 7.5 mil in the NHL

hell I would do a lot more then wing it for 7.5 mil

- homiedclown

Regardless of what he is making.

He has said he wants to be at center.

He is also not a great fit at wing.

based on what?

if ror took the face offs, played 82 games on the wing with say jack and whoever

ror gets career high year in points

Great write up Michael.

The kyle William's touchdown and the draft lottery victory are the 2 curse-breaking scores this city needed.

Sabres are going to be good.

The pegulas buying that home clearly shows that they are going to be "more involved " and that kim is taking her presidency to heart.

Cant wait until the draft, schedule and the opening game

- Boss34

kinda disappointed no one mentioned the Hendrix video...gerbe?...anyone?

You forgot to add preformance bonuses. If Dahlin gets 8 mil, he'd have reached levels for performance bonuses. Sorry Sabers fans.. you suck! Lol

Speed.
He is not really an attacker.

He is a playmaker/defensive center.

Quote from ROR himself
“Sometimes, I think about the game in a center man’s way, and I’m still learning. This requires me to be more physical now. I have to forecheck and be more aggressive. Playing center, I could sit back more, read the play and support more."

Your top line wingers needs to be Laine, Neal, Kane, Etc.

yet crosby had kunitz during their hay day

not buying that at all

you need 2 guys with wheels, and if you have a slow defensive center, you need speed on the left and speed on the right

or have a top 9 with ror, reinhart, okposo, pommer, pouliot and never be able to play that up beat game you bragged about at your presser

Right, but Sidney Crosby is the best player in the world. Also Kunitz has produced everywhere he has been, severely underrated guy.

That's what I was getting at, they want to play this fast paced, up tempo style. ROR at wing does not scream that, to me at least.

You say this like you are talking to someone who understands how hockey positioning works and not an internet troll. Should of dumbed it down for him IMO.

I know you are good with the stats, can you post his stats while he has played wing vs center? Like PPG or something?

He doesn't scream that at all. So if he doesn't fit the system, the question is what is his value to this team, and what is his value around the league. If the latter is higher, ship his ass somewhere. He will never be on that will play a fast paced game.

But they'd rather trade up for Risto and offer a bunch more and still have a tough time getting him, what does that tell ya?

Many young D playing 25-28 mins a night with sieves on their side are going to make errors, he was worked like your dog scout. Let him play 21-22 mins a night with some talent and he will be fine.

But, you keep lobbying for that all world 21 pt, 41 hit, #4 Dman. It will keep the offseason amusing anyway.

- GilPerreault11

We're talking about the same GM responsible for Hall-Larsson, Lucic contract, eberle-strome, and all the poop he did in boston.

For the record, i don't expect this trade to happen as the speculation was just that, purely speculation by a TSN reporter on a podcast.

Because he does not want to play win and that is part of the reason he was moved from Colorado.
- ImThatGuy

That's ridiculous .

Only on this board , would people bash a guy for his season closing remarks .

I thought everyone liked ror? I still do and believe he has more passion and drive than most of the roster from last year.

Why does lehner get a pass and the coaches?

I know, but it seems to be the only thing the boys understand on here.
- GilPerreault11

but if you don't believe that (and I know this as fact because you've come after me on more than one occasion about how dumb it is to evaluate d-men based on points) why would you make that point? All that tells me is you're more interested in trying to stick it to a guy 25-30 years younger than you on a message board versus actually arguing a point you believe in. Congratulations, you're a real winner.

you let ror take the face off

slide him to the wing and let your center go to the center position on the ice

Ror for mid to late 1st takes the cake.

Lehner has 0 trade value, but didnt say he lost his game at parts during the season.

Lehner showed that he lost his passion by quitting in a few games. Like his last game as a sabre

I don't know where you're getting this from, Lehner's not getting a pass, he's probably not even getting qualified.

What are you talking about, the quote I posed was his quote from several seasons ago when he played for Colorado.
The guy wants to play Center, not wing.

Hes a good player, when he wants to be, and when he loves the game.
He was brought in to be a leader. He is far, far from that.
