Then flip the first for Hoffman and extend him.

I would do that

- jcragcrumple

No I’m not giving the 5th for Hoffman who is a UFA next year

You chose the Caps who are currently in the ECF tied 2-2 with Tampa whos only reason they lose is they run into a more talented team in Pittsburgh.
- ImThatGuy

If the culture was bad, how the hell did they win the Presidents Trophy two straight years??

So they just flipped the culture to bad as soon as the playoffs start?

Well, the reports have it that they were pretty f’d-up the week leading up to the Big Game.
They certainly had a most talented team to be sure.
You draw your own conclusions.

- IonSabres

Well they all have one unified vision during superbowl week, so that would technically be culture, no?

That be around the Arizona pack ..

So if buffalo is looking for a Richards type deal That be
Dvorak , max 1st

- gerbe75pts

Bob seems to think Carolina and Montreal are the most interested. If either team is trading for him, they're not going to say give us an overpaid 27 year old, take our underpaid 18 year old.

Montreal - Gal, Mete, 2nd
Carolina - Skinner, Bean, 2nd

Get those early 1sts out of your head, kid.

That means it's a 1st, which could also be an early 1st. We essentially get 2nd overall.

they are a glaring example of "culture" being ALMOST meaningless

their players hated eachother, they had 0 discipline, their coach had 0 control, yet they made 4 straight superbowls.

By all accounts, the culture in NE with the Pats is (frank)ed

So would then the Buffalo Sabres presidents cup team also fit into that mold.

I did not miss that. However, you're not getting 2 or 3 with ROR. It's just not happening.

Literally the worst in sports so they say, but they have Tom Brady and he is the best ever.

Once Brady retires i can almost guarantee you the culture in NE is considered to be a problem.

Because they chose a group of players with talents that compliment each other.

Add that to an entire organization with a chip on their shoulder and you get good chemistry and a high effort level.

They had strong leadership and a unified vision. Unfortunately, their depth was depleted and their talent could not carry them all the way.

copy and paste culture is not talent and talent is not culture and you need both

There's people that believe in the concept and people that don't. So be it.

Keep Ryan O'Reilly, keep Ristolainen, keep Reinhart. They're all good players and will make us better.

So they became less talented when their injuries happend, or did they lose their vision?

Name a time a good team had those issues?

I think what youre saying has validation, but equating it to "culture" is incorrect.

To use your not playing the coaches system point, Hamilton accused Ristolainen of doing this to 2 straight coaches.

This isn't culture, it's being uncoachable.

Culture is NOT a tangible thing. It is the result, and label of many things combined

- sbroads24

Ok. A piece of it for sure.
But if ROR and Jack and Bogo all approached Risto and explained how his not paging the system in fact hurts the team and coerced him into playing it...
If Housley had a Risto ride the pine and play 3rd pairing to demonstrate you don’t play top minutes by not playing the system.
Then if that doesn’t work, then trade him.
Sets a pretty firm example for the next guy.
Ala fat-ass on the Bills
