What am I missing exactly?

I'm not accusing you of saying culture is the reason teams win, i'm saying if it was tangible, like speed and other attributes, like you said it was, then we would hear about bad culture on good teams....we don't. Because it never exists apparently

- sbroads24

Culture is not tangible, the same way all people can't agree on whether our bro Ryan O'Passion belongs here, and global warming.

"Culture is a measure of the observable behaviors your team and organization promotes and accepts. Ultimately, culture is best defined simply as ‘the way we do things around here’ or ‘the way we behave around here’. Culture is not what you think, or want to do, it is what you do. Full stop. Some teams espouse a certain culture but actually behave in a very different way. That is, they do not ‘walk the talk’. Culture is the ‘talk you walk’. Your team’s culture results in either effective and productive outcomes or ineffective and unproductive outcomes."

Doesn't anyone find it peculiar that this team should have been at least middle of the road on paper, but completely fell apart?

Since culture is not a tangible item such as faceoff wins and 5v5 points, I will continue to yell at a wall. Some will agree and some won't. So be it, I couldn't care less. I know through experience how important it is and how it truly exists, despite it's intangibility because it's an idea, not a stat. It's a group personality.

One helps the other. When you lose, things fall apart without extremely strong leadership. When you win, that leadership is rarely needed. It's a unified message. I know what it is, I've experienced it throughout my entire life, I'm fully aware it exists. If people want to ignore the fact that culture, or maybe 'a positive, unified message' exists, by all means. I don't give a poop.

Weber, 7 more years at 7.8 a year and people want to trade for him, and they want Risto and ROR gone.

You have to be F$$KIN kidding me.

Shea Weber is really good still.

If you could get him because Montreal is dumb enough to move him as a cap dump, you do it.

Bravo!
Extremely well done sir, spot o.

With that I too rest my case, as arguing about it does nothing.

Now, let’s get Gerbe to listen to some Led Zeppelin so he has a clue about the songs

You do realize what you are saying here translates to when you lose the culture becomes bad and when you win the culture is good.

All teams have the same culture. Be the best you can be on and off the ice/field. Some teams just have better talent than others and that's why they win.

They retain 50% and take Bogo and Beaulieu, sure.

He's definitely still good. He's actually great, despite that awful injury he had this year. But in 4 years, he's going to be a heap of poop. And we're going to be covered in it.

Here is the kicker, you trade him back to Nashville in 4 years because they do not want Shea Weber to retire else they get hit with a $25MM recapture penalty, and then Nashville stores him on LTIR ala Chris Pronger for years.

if it was a venn diagram it'd only be 2 elements just sayin
- robz228

You really should go back to class and listen this time.
You are right only in a two set case.
But there are 3 set, 4 set, amore more cases which can and are drawn using Venn diagrams.
But, do try again.

I am not much of a believer in culture, but I think the crappy roster to start the year, as well as the fact that they were out of it by November crushed their spirit, and even after Moulson, Griffith, Criscuolo and others were gone, the damage was done and they had checked out.

I don't think it's an indictment of the team's culture, I think it was human nature to lose interest - dare I say passion - when they were knocked out early due to a crappy roster

So the bad roster (Less talent) + losing = bad culture

They want trades just to get trades, ROR doesn't like losing and people hate him for it, they complain what Murray did with bad contracts but they want Shea Weber.

I will continue to wonder why the Sabres didn't even consider signing Evander Kane. Probably cause he's a poopty player and not because he didn't fit the mold of what they're trying to build. That's jut me I guess.

With Carolina being in the market for a Goalie, think there would be any interest in a Lehner package?
