Does that really hold up even strength per 60? I'd find that surprising. As far as play style, I just consider him balanced, neither offensive or defensive.

He's 120th in XGF/60 among D-men with 1000 or more minutes and somewhere in the bottom 60 in XGA/60.

Top 100 CF/60 for d-men 1000 or more minutes

Bottom 40 in CA/60


He's an offensive d-man sans puck movement ability. Ideal for the 2nd pair and some favourable zone starts.

When Risto was out, Scandella filled in on the PP. I don't think anyone would give him an offensive label. If he had to fill in longer, and put up some more points, that wouldn't change how I characterized him as a defenseman.

Yeah, it's not dead, very much alive. It's really not any worse than a bad stubbing. It just hurts for like 20 minutes instead of 2 or 3.
