he is a 3-4 line plug, a dime a dozen in this league. Everyone going gaga over him is crazy.

I agree with all that, I just don't think they'd let him walk for nothing. I definitely think they're trying to move him
- jcragcrumple

If he walks for nothing, you definitely know that his value is no where close to what he's contractually obligated to receive.

I like him as a player. I also like him no higher than the 4th line. Mocking him in the top 6 makes me nauseous.

Massively different, but how much better?
- CoHo_to_B-Lo

Well look who they’re replacing...
guys like Moulson, Falk, Tennyson, etc etc

So, to answer your question...
MUCH BETTER imo

Getting even average goaltending will be big compared to last year

Looks like the defense will be MUCH better,
and Dahlin & Guhle getting the puck up the ice will help the forwards/scoring as well

We lost A LOT of 1 goal games last year

The forward group needs a make over. The defense will be better no doubt. But they still suck as a whole.

Yeah I like him to as an energy guy who can pitch in a few goals and play up if need for short periods of time, but to slot him in on a second line??

I think if he were awarded something good, they'd bite the bullet and keep him, but the first team to lose a goalie, they'd trade him and retain salary if needed.

It's almost unheard of to let a 200-game vet with a .915 walk for nothing.

But I think he's gone by July 1

I'll bet you a thousand internet points he isn't. They can't throw away a career .915 goalie

Can some one explain to me why we're putting Wilson on the 2nd line ? Even I know he's a bum
- gerbe75pts

Bc that line looked good in the 2nd half of last year
Obviously we’d like to upgrade that spot,
but as of NOW, slotting him there makes sense

Can Nylander make the team & bump him down? (or Olofsson, Smith, etc)
Do we make a trade or sign someone like JvR?

I was just trying to show, that even without doing anything else MAJOR,
our opening night roster is already much different
Some changes will still likely be made
LW has to be a priority

We need to choose 1 of these guys to be on the opening night roster. The other is a healthy scratch, and larsson is in sweden or Cincinnati
- jcragcrumple

Certainly possible

I didn’t want to assume changes that may or may not be made

Last year,
Larsson played on line3 a lot & Girgs spent significant time as a top6 LW
If we keep those guys on line4,
I’ll bet they look like “ok” players

They could also be replaced by Smith & O’Regan (or others) in the lineup though

We need an impact winger. There isn't one in this system, yet.

Didn't they get a 2nd for Jamie McGinn when they traded him that season? Or what it a 3rd?
- Stripes77

3rd I believe

I'm in the "anyone but Larsson" frame of mind. Wilson can play center as well. Girgs should never, ever leave the 4th line, and never, ever play with Eichel again

Understood.

The QO is too high. I don't agree with the decision and think they should either trade his rights or resign him. Still, I saw Botts comments about Ullmark as him moving on from Lehner as well.

One thousand internet points it is.

Time to cut the losses and move on from Baptiste, Bailey and Fashing. All 3 had many chances and did nothing.
- mikes1519

Maybe Faushing but it won't be Baptiste or Bailey just yet, They want to see more form Bailey.

I don't know if people think beacuse of Tom Wilson you can plug in a player like him and think he will succeed the same

Yeah it ended up being a 3rd with conditions on it being a 2nd but those weren't met

I’m not saying changes don’t need to be made still...

Just as of right NOW,
inserting guys like Dahlin, Guhle, & Mittelstadt
Over guys that should’ve been in the AHL
is gonna make a significant difference
