Sure, but I'm firmly in the move RoR camp.

-Listen to offers on Sam and Risto, but RoR is my preference to move

-Trade RoR for a package that includes a winger they see fitting long term with Jack (St Louis seems like a nice fit). Alternatively, I'd take a top 10 pick as the main piece, if it were offered.

-A few minor moves involving prospects. Have to address our log jam of bottom 6 RW's and guys who lose their wavier exemptions.

-Bring in a couple low risk FA's on 1-2 year deals, ideally two way high effort guys (Calvert sounds like a nice fit). If RoR is moved, then bring in a strong defensive C to bridge the gap to Asplund and take dzone pressure off Jack + Casey.

-Walk away from Lehner and bring in two guys they like, because you need three capable of playing significant NHL minutes.

-Hold on Bogo and Okposo. They have no real trade value and are likely to see some rebound.

Interesting. We would definitely be better in a few years, I just wonder if we'd actually be worse next year. If we let Lehner walk, start a rookie goaltender and trade away our 2C for a draft pick...we're worse next year aren't we? Are we just continuing the "tank" mentality then?

I don't think we are allowed to use the new faces, coach, and GM argument anymore.

I used to use it almost daily but then Vegas started playing the way they are.

I think change is good as long as its done well. If vegas has shown us anything its that even a lack of top end talent can be compensated for with effort and team composition. Two things we lack here if buffalo

It's more about institutional memory, or the lack thereof, combined with chips on shoulders, the largest of all on the HC, that allowed Vegas to do what they're doing.

Better than Wilcox as your backup netminder? Methinks not.

Just on defense, we're going from gorges, Beaulieu and Falk to Guhle, Dahlin and Nelson. The names of the bottom six scrubs who started last year are well known. Mitts, Erod and to a lesser extent, Wilson are light years better than Nolan, Moulson and Griffith. We're already so much better than 9 months ago.

Next year should be fun. I just hope Botts can acquire some LW skill

Totally agree.

LW is a priority. Will be interesting to see what he can do this offseason. I expect a FA signing and a trade. Just my gut. But that trade, if it's for "Jack's winger" could very well make or break the next couple years.

I still think Grabner would do well on Eichel's wing.

they need to replace him.. Ullmark could easily fall on his face and be worse. although not starter material at least with Lehner we knew what we had. With Ullmark its a huge question. we need to bring in a vet back up or a hutton grubauer type player to fight him for that starter role

I'd give bernier a 3 year deal at 3.5 per. That lets Ullmark find his footing, and at the end of the deal, we can start thinking about Ukka-pekka lukkonen if Ullmark doesn't pan out
