By the way, Dreger interview Ryan O'Passion this morning from the Worlds. He covered all topics. All of them. So, that'll be out soon. I'll post a link when I see it.

I can't stop watching this. Like, just drop the (frank)ing thing.

100% disagree. It puts more pressure.

They come out and suck with Eichel and Dahlin, with the current high paid players..... he ain't keeping his job

- sbroads24

first off I think the pegulas really believe in him, something that will lengthen his rope...second, he does have another out in the coach...

i'm still not all-in on Housley and believe if things go south early, similar to last season, his head will be on the chopping block

sounds like they're actively looking for replacements

I’m working out I have no time for that

So you figured you'd do MORE work? How does that make sense? Even in your world?

Dude almost gets paid as much as Sidney Crosby , Stamkos shut up and play
- gerbe75pts

No he doesn't. He's got a cap circumventing contract that he made $36M over the first 3 years and only $9M over the last 3 years of the deal. And from year 9 at $9M to year 10 at $3M is also circumvention. He signed it before the new rules were in place, he'd be making $10.6M per year if you took the last 3 years off.

I agree. I don't think JB pitched a quick fix plan to get the job. I think he pitched 2-3 years to correct past mistakes and build up the system. There's some pressure on everyone to show a moderate improvement this year, but little more than that.

Pegs responds quickly when he's embarrassed. Empty seats are embarrassing him. Dahlin will fill some seats and take some pressure off of everyone. This off season is about smart moves aimed years down the road, not quick fixes.

I was thinking about that this morning. I'm guessing Nashville would like to move on from that salary. I'd love to get that Calle Jarnkrok salary. Nash has Saros (really made out of that Girgensons trade)

To Buf:

Rinne
Jarnkrok

To Nsh:

ROR
Lehner

Picks as necessary to balance

- jcragcrumple

I honestly came a little reading this, the thought is so hot.

I want Jarnkrok on this team something bad.

Agreed, but it also requires actual moves.

Standing pat and saying "Well Dahlin will get better so we're all set" isnt acceptable

I'm quite certain we agree on this. I don't see a few core pieces on this team in 3 years and the smart move is to trade players while their value is high. I hold on Bogo and Okposo because of that.

I think smart moves aimed at getting better 1-2 years down the road start with moving one or more of RoR, Okposo, bogo, Moulson

True but it's easier said than done. Besides Chiarelli, what other GM wants our garbage and is willing to give us fast, young, strong and inexpensive players in return? If we can draft well, insert some good young players (Guhle, Dahlin, Ulmark, CJ Smith, Baptiste) and shed ourselves from some of these brutal contracts, I think it will be a good summer for him.

My biggest fear is that Botts goes all GMTM on us and tries to fix this mess too quickly. This is why I hope he holds off from the free agent frenzy this year and continues to clean up the mess he inherited. If we can do all of the above and move up from 62 points to 85 then i think the fan-base will see there is a good plan in place to build a sustainable future.

Would you trade the #1 pick for Connor McDavid?

Obviously never in a million years would it happen, but would you

Can only trade RoR for so many days in a row before fatigue sets in.

Oh man, someone pitch Eichel and Dahlin to Chia

Eichel and Dahlin for McDavid and Klefbom.

Edit: this might actually be a doozie. I don't know if I would

Yes.

The best 1-2 center tandem in the league for the next 10 years. Lots of high scoring games. Who cares about wingers, defense and salary caps?

I'm going to add a preemptive "Calm down Potato", but we already have a guy that's a franchise 1C, so McDavid would be somewhat redundant, and in the playoffs you can't just outscore everyone, ask the Caps how that's worked for them the last 10 years. Not to mention how do you give enough ice time to both Eichel and McDavid? It somehow works for Pittsburgh, but I think they're the exception to that rule.

I think I wouldn't do it only because I'd be paralyzed by indecision.

This isn't just any duo though, mceichel would light the league on fire. You'd essentially build like the pens. Your defense would need to just be good enough instead of pretty good.
