Oh yeah, "Clank".

People like to hate on this board, me included.

when a player hits 11 goal posts in 4 games he deserved that nick name for the week

Yes, at times he lost the passion for his job.

I think we have all been there?

Losing sucks. Ror hates to lose. I don't see any obvious signs of his lack of passion on the ice.

Sam on the other hand looks passionless . Soft for sure

- Boss34

What stood out to me was ROR was virtually lifeless until Jack went down...then he and Reinhart surged forward rather significantly.

Kinda makes you wonder the motivation

And who hasn't fallen in that category?

Sam took the first half season off to recover
Larson had 1 goal
Girgs goes without for months
Kane sucked a bunch of balls thru out his Sabres career
Okposo took the first 10 games off for a reason
Erod was inconsistent
The whole defense minus risto had an off year

We have been terrible, its expected to have a bit of a roller coaster statically

- Boss34

Don't disagree, who is the one paid like a top 15 center?

Erod took off when Eichel was out too. That was a really nice stretch for him

He's missed 22 since he's been here. Which isn't bad.

I agree with this, which is why trading him now while he has value makes sense.

If CM wasn't in the picture, this would be different. But Housley and Botterill are staunch on playing him at center (CM) and you don't pay 7.5 mil on your cap for your about to be 3rd line center when this team is competing for a cup.

ROR can bring back valuable assets, and cap space you can use to fill out this roster.

- sbroads24

I don't realize he missed that many games.i knew that he came back quick after an emergency surgery.

Something a passionate player would do

Cant it be seen as the complete opposite though.

Ror stepped a big without eichel playing. Isn't that better then stepping back completely?

What is the "motivation "?

You do have to factor in the overpayment factor of being the buffalo Sabres.

Losing organization
Buffatax

I would trade him for equal value. He has become stale here. I do still like him and his effort though

So that's bad? Because we wonder his "motivation"?

Stepping up in the stars absence, is good.

Serious question...why do you keep calling him passionate when he himself said he lost it?

I get the reasons why he did, I do. Yet he apparently did nothing about it...his words from packup day. He wasn’t vocal, didn’t challenge anyone...nothing.
Doesn’t sound passionate to me.

I like ROR and think it is ok if they over paid him a bit ...but 26-27% more? That was based off n getting leadership from him..din’t happen this year when the chips are down ...I don’t want him as a core piece anymore as I can’t believe he will kick it into high gear in Game 7 and put the team on his back..like a leader must.
He is a solid player, sure...he isn’t core leadership and that is 2hat they thought they were getting

Leverage his high value and get someone who gets tough when the going gets tough.

Not at all. Just an observation. That's when he really upped his game

It could be, it could yes...hence why I phrased it as a mystery.
But then I hav3 to wonder why that play was evident in the previous 60 games.

It is crazy how the perception of ROR has changed so quickly. Future captain, captain practices,a true leader, just what we need. To trade him, he has no passion, not a leader etc.

He was given more time and opportunity, like the PP.

It is GOOD players step up, no question.
In ROR’s case it was like a light switch was flicked for like 5 or 6 games
He looked slow and bored for 60 games...then poof...
Just makes me question it, especially for a 6 or 7 year vet.

I don't agree with that, but different people have different observations. To me, he always has an active stick and is constantly hounding for takeaways

😀

I agree. That's why it was refreshing that he didnt use the same old cliches to end the season.

He's a broken record.

Gerbe- a record was able to snap, break or scratch. It was used for listening to music

I have very high hopes for Erod. I think he should be given a legit chance as 3rd line center.

Then he fits in. He can blow lines in the basements of Chippewa like so many before him.
