The way this fanbase slobs ROR's knob but ripped Derek Roy to shreds goes to show that we don't deserve nice things.

- BeadyEyedDouche

I support this 100%

ROR is a perennial 60-point player.

He makes no one better.

No one can make him better.

He is what he is: Lady Byng.

Soft, skilled and quite simply, not an impact player. His teams have made the playoff ONE time and in spite of him.

Not gonna get into the specifics, because they'll be disregarded anyway, but look at the dobber hockey page on Wilson. ROR made him better

I am not talking about the 7.5 million dollar man

I am talking about a 22 year old that put up 37 points in the last 37 games and tied for the team lead in goals

- homiedclown

The 2 go hand in hand though
At least in a couple ways...

Sam’s resurgence came when he was placed on RORs wing...
yet few give O’Reilly ANY credit at all

And earlier u were excusing Sam’s early play bc he had bad wingers,
but you’re critical of ROR even though he had pretty bad wingers for a significant time as well

Derek Roy has the same impact. Outside of the Briere/Drury days, where he was getting 3rd line matchups, this team played the best hockey during Roy's tenure when he wasn't in the lineup (2010-2011). They both deserve the same criticism.

Saw that . THanks for the reminder . I've always been a sam supporter. 2nd overall pics with his talent cost too much to get .

Reinhart averages 22 goals a year, and is a bust

Draisaitl averages 24 goals a year, and is a god

again, what they will do with casey this fall will determine ror's future here

there is zero chance one of them is a 3rd line center in 2019-20

I'm calling the Pens and asking how available Kessel is.

no, my eyes showed ror benefited from reinhart more than reinhart benefited from ror

these 2 are not linked no matter how much you ror lovers want to link it

if casey starts the fall as a center, ror's days are numbered as a sabre

if casey starts the fall on jack's wing, there will be a chance for ror to be a part of the break out

- homiedclown

Idk why you don't want to accept that playing ROR with better players (Reinhart) makes both better. Good players with good players is good.

As for a ROR trade, sure, if it's the right move. I haven't heard one on this board yet

2010-11, roy busted his a$$ in rehab so he could play game 7

spent half a year busting his a$$ to make that happen

that shows heart

Pominville was never a proper leader.

He's the most bland, predictable person ever. "The other team wanted it more"

"We didn't get the job done"

"We have to be better"

ROR, the same.

Okposo, I'll give a pass, he's had serious health issues.

But we desperately needed a Stastny, Spezza, Jagr-type in this locker room. A Tavares would be nice but we need a true leader.

Doughty would be great, I think.

- BeadyEyedDouche

1) what EXACTLY did u want to hear from them?

2) what do u mean by “true leader” and what do the guys u mentioned SPECIFICALLY say/do that u put them in that category?

Seems they need a captain that can control the WHOLE team.
- cabin

I think it’s fair to question whether or not Jack is that guy...

Why wasn’t he named Captain this past year?
Not “ready” yet?
Is he now?

Still doesn't change the fact that this team was better without him on it.

You can have "heart" and still make your teammates worse. That's exactly what Roy did, and that's exactly why he's no longer in this league.

Why didn't they get the job done ? heard the same every game .

Pommer seemed to be nothing more than a roster spot .

Which is factually untrue, as I've proven - using hard stats - several times.

You have some personal issues with him

I didn't expect him to be anything more than that. He was a necessary evil to acquire Scandella...which was a problem in of itself, but that's a different argument.

linemates couldn't keep up with him

rookie coach
