those things were pretty bad ass. my trailer trash neighbors turned the entire perimeter of their back yard into a track and we all saved up and bought cars. |

They were awesome but they all took 8 C batteries that would last 12 minutes |

Not for me, but went for a friend...we looked at the Honda Clarity (which is ugly as (frank)), the Hyundai Ioniq, and the Nissan Leaf.
For the Clarity, the dealer said they would have only 6 for sale this year (3 were already sold). The Ioniq isn't bad looking, but they build them on order so you can wait up to 6 months for it. The Leaf is just too pricey. The salesman opened his pitch by saying there is a minimum 3 months wait period and that payments are at around 700$/per month on a 7 year deal
Not to mention the ridiculous autonomy of these cars. |

my only problem with hybrids and electrics and all that is that somewhere along the line automakers decided they had to give most of them ugly wheels or trim or whatever.
like that front end, for instance. i mean i guess you don't need a grill anymore but yuck. |

They already have the Ioniq, which comes in Hybrid, Hybrid Plug-in and Electric versions. The electric has around 200 km autonomy.
Problem with these electric cars is that during winter and harsh colds the autonomy drops about 50%...
EDIT: Oh, and about the Kona electric...it's supposed to come out in September, but with the way it's complicated to get the Ioniq now, the dealership told me they expect to probably receive the first electric Kona next spring... |

MSRP at 44 400$...
The one thing they all had in common, they all feel like 22 000-27 000$ cars they sell you at 40 000-50 000$ |

It's going to turn to that eventually. My friend keeps his cars for almost 10 years, he just wondered if it was time to make the move.
The technology is not exactly there yet, but it's improving |
