no rust. it held up okay. it even was stubborn about the slipping transmission. i ended up at 130,000 miles and that transmission slipped for the last like 30,000 miles but never completely went on me.

I think they had rust issues with older models, newer ones not so much

they changed their paint process a few years ago, they are supposed to be much better in that regard

their revised warranty

Mazda have been having issues with automatic transmissions

Japanese car companies in general struggled with that, but Mazda were the worst...don't know if it's still the case...
