Trouba would look so nice paired with Rielly.
Rielly - Trouba
Dermott - Ristolainen
Borgman - Zaitsev - PatC80
Trouba would be a good additon, but what do you think the cost is?

How about this.... You admit that sometimes it seems like some of your posts are made from the back row of Uggy's short bus, and I'll agree to a truce... DEAL?
- .OHOH.
Not back row.... It's definitely front row, next to the bus driver level type stuff. |

he is still only 23... Maybe he is the guy for "UG's next failed ex-NHL'er" that the Leafs should give $3.9M per year for. - PatC80
Let's not write Khoklachev off as a failed ex NHL'er after 8 games when he was given absolutely no chance to succeed from Claude Julien
But this post was still funny |

Cheveldayoff has a reputation for not being easy to deal with. I would think Nylander is the starting price. I would do the deal you mention, but honestly, Trouba is an RFA same as Nylander - both will get paid. |

I hope your are right about Z. Can't see any way Gardiner is not traded and soon. Leafs need to get two top four d-men IMO. Not even sure Hainsey belongs in a good top four, although he had a decent season. Gardiner will be booed every time he touches the puck - as was Larry Murphy. Shanahan and managment know this. - winsix
Do leafs fans blame the game 7 loss entirely on Gardiner? I know he shat the bed but it wasn't like he scored in his own net to lose the game. |

he was on the ice for the game 7 winner 5 whatever years ago.
in his redemption game, same thing happened.
that's got to weigh on him mentally. might be time for a change of scenery imo. and i actually like what he brings to the table. |

2013 or 2018?
answer is YES and NO (2018 game 7 loss was on Freddy Reimer mainly) |

I'm willing to bet that the Bruins will gladly accept the 2nd rd pick, and not match the offer sheet... Neely and Sweeney probably forgot that the own the rights to Khoklachev. - PatC80
Can you guarantee it though? That's the real question |

for $3.9M for a unproven nhl player?
yeah, seems like a no-brainer to take the 2nd. |

his offense in the ahl and khl would seem to translate well to the nhl.
but he's at most $2M player right now imo. |

On the plus side
He scored a great goal to open the scoring, and he had a 50 point season - which makes him easy to trade - especially on an expiring contract.
But....
He was -5 in a game seven, he didn't just sh!t the bed, the sheets were dark brown. Larry Murphy was run out of town for much less.

I agree, especially Boston, they love Trouba - and they need a big d-man to replace their ancient captain.

i'd be very happy if we could swing a trade for gardiner (late 1st and ok prospect) and sign de hann and carlsson to shore up the back-end.
rielly - carlsson (7)
de hann (4.25) - z
dermott - hainsey |

I just don't see him getting boo'd every time he touches the puck at home. Sure he'll be on a shorter leash but I can't see him run out of town. |
