The 25th pick is how we're hopefully drafting one of the guys I mentioned. - GreatGigInTheSky
oh so keep the pick so you can hopefully draft a prospect who will be in the same place as Andersson in 3 years |

Took my puppy to the vet today for her rabies shots.
Vet said "no vigorous exercise for the rest of the day."
We've been hanging out, napping all day.
I am so franked tonight when she is wide awake and wants to play. |

You could buy him out if you had to with a cap hit of 938k per year/4 years. I think someone might take him. I heard the Oilers need a winger
The Leafs traded David Clarkson, and Dion Phaneuf, I have to imagine they can get someone to take him. |

orprik trade is fair. exchange of 2 fringe nhlers.
saves the caps $3M in space this year... when they need it. we have more cap space then we'll know what to do with.
saves us $2.5M next year...when we need it.

Brown & 25th pick > Andersson. That's what I'm saying.
I know you were joking when you replaced Brown with Martin. |

And I agree for the most part. Its a steep price for a D who has 10 NHL games.
I am also trying to avoid the lurkers who are looking to jump in and post 10 laughies at a trade offer a Leaf fan proposed
oh also could go Pick #25, Martin and a cap dump from Calgary |

I like Matthews getting 11 and Marner getting 7.
... not if next year looks anything like this past season.

I totally agree. That's how Chicago did it. They signed Campbell and Hossa and then started dumping salary but at least they had a cup. - Schennski
Yeah I'd trade Nylander or Marner right now for a guaranteed cup next year. |

Or take a trade proposal out of context, laugh all over it, because they are too stupid to understand.
Only leafs fans have ever made dumb trade proposals.

Oh, OK. Cool. If Brown is gonna be a part of some kind of trade, I'd prefer it be a part of some kind of package to Edmonton and try to pry the #10 overall pick from them.
Who does Calgary have that could be a cap dump? I haven't looked at their roster in a bit. |

Brouwer has 2 years left. Unsure about the second year when Matthews and Marner's contracts kick in. |

for a team that didnt make the playoffs. Calgary doesnt have a 1st, 2nd or a 3rd in 2018 They could use a 1st
Looks like Brouwer might be the only bad contract.
I think Stone is one of the RH D that would take time and/or keep a prospect down like Andersson. So they should keep him |

Yeah they certainly would be desperate for early round picks this year.

Not necessarily. Cap is likely to be 78M-82M this year, and next year 82M-86M
Hyman(2.25M)-Matthews(11M)-Marner(7M)
Johnsson(2M)-Tavares(10M)-Nylander(6.25M)38.5
Marleau(6.25M)-Kadri(4.5M)-Brown(2.1M)48.35
Grundstrom/UFA(1M)-Altanon/UFA(1.5M)-Kapanen(2M)
55.85M Forwards
Reilly(5M)-Hjarmmasson(4.1M)(Example)
Gardiner(5M)-Hainsey(3M)
Dermott(863k)-Zaitsev(4.5)
Carrick(1M)/Borgman(1M)
23.46M Defence
Total 79.31M
You would have to trade Martin for sure, and let go of Leivo.
The following year Marleau will be expiring, and we can still add a mid tier D. I'd rather sign the Top 10 player this year, and figure things out further next offseason. - Archaic
Goalies don't count against the cap which is nice |
