The few pre-season and World Junior games I've seen OJ play I was not impressed. Don't anticipate he'll ever be anything more than a bottom pairing guy, and having him play in the AHL next year is going to make that evident to every other organization. Why not turn him into a different type of asset while he still has some potential value left?

Because you still have no clue what his ceiling is. I watched him close enough in the Mem.Cup and junior to see he's going to be a winner. Just may take a year or two longer. No, he's not Norris quality but I can see him being a solid 2-3 D guy that can contribute on PP2 and PP1 when needed. We can't expect him to be the next incarnation of Salo. Let the kid develop at his pace and we'll see.

He has above average puck moving skills. They just need to be honed and he'll benefit from having legitimate scorers with him much in the way he did on London. I see him as someone who will compliment offense rather than push it from the back end.

When OJ was studding it up in London with the likes of Domi and Marner he needed that support not only for confidence but in general.

With the likes of Boeser and Pettersson here to compliment a player like OJ...I think he'll be fine.

You are correct OJ will not likely 'drive' the offensive play but he is a phenomenal skater and puck mover which will be helped along by being surrounded with the right talent. Horvat included.

I’d take any true top 2 that provides offence something we haven’t had in years. Salo & Lumme type D seems so long ago. Wait it was long ago 😂😂
