Whenever my brain starts thinking up scenarios like that I take a step back and think to myself... "If i was a fan of that team, would i want this?" The answer here is a hell to the no - picklerick
How does that entertain me while I'm at the office killing time? |

They were 23rd overall in GF/gp - eichiefs9
They allowed 3.1 goals per game. If they had a better goaltender I bet they could have matched the Devils or Columbus' 2.8 and 2.9. |

Think the one time we played our game 7 then had to start the new series the next day. Or it was a game 7 then 1 day rest followed by a back to back. Can't remember which |

I bet Carolina would move the 2nd overall for Lundquist. Too bad he doesn't want to go anywhere right now. - Aaron_85
Yeah we definitely want to trade a potential superstar forward for a 36 year old, $10 million goaltender. |

So would you rather squeak into the playoffs and get your teeth kicked in by the #1 seed or would you rather try to find a goaltender that isn't starting to grow mold and draft a young, cost-controlled, likely-star and have him be a part of your team for a decade, at minimum? |

To answer Jans original blog question: I don't think we should move up into the top three.
I think the overpayment to Carolina to get to #2 will be too costly and
I can't honestly see Montreal trading with us from a P.R. standpoint. After stealing MacDonagh from them in our last trade between the two teams, do you really think they would deal us a possible future star player at #3 ?
I do think a deal would make sense with Arizona or even Chicago so we could get Wahlstrom. Both deals would be a bit cheaper to complete.
