I like your optimism that they'd be able to execute said adjustment |

legs look to be gone. team speed is no faster than WSH. Pens used to dominate 50/50 puck races and push pace of play.

This game has the feel of the 2013 series vs the Bruins. Where the Pens couldn't do any damn thing. The Caps are clogging all the passing lanes and playing a solid defensive game. |

Yeah I mean, a narrative alot of us had in reg season was how tired they looked because of how much hockey they've played last few years and how hard their schedule is... This is even further along now.
They don't look near as fast this series. Part of it is the Caps system but I think they're gassed. |

They've been running the 1-4 trap. It's insane. There absolutely no lanes out there. Soft dumps into the corner would be my idea as the best bet to generate some zone time. Pens D need to watch that (frank)ing pinch. Dumo almost left Letang out on an island, luckily Ovi fumbled the puck. Murray has been a brick (frank)in wall since that shaky first goal. |

Comet is so yesterday. I just ate two tide pods, and washed it down with a glass of pine sol. |

I think more of it is attributed to the Caps trapping the neutral zone up, and their breakouts have been atrocious. It looks like the Pens of last year where they just throw pucks to center and hope someone wins a battle.. only they're being outnumbered like crazy in the neutral zone. |

Yeah no doubt the Caps system is a culprit, especially for the speed coming outta neutral zone or lack there of.
Sloppy passes, crappy decision making, weaker board battles and slower physical speed to the eye are signs of gassed... |
